And to those of you who think Shonda should consider fans' wishes when writing the show - I think the show would have been MUCH less innovative and exciting had the fans been allowed to make the decisions for the writers. Maybe there's a reason that we're viewers, not writers, eh?
I'm getting kinda tired of fans whining for a "proper" wedding. If you're fans of Grey's, you should realize that the post-it wedding was a very suitable way for Meredith and Derek to commit to each other (commit is the operative word here, it's the commitment, not the wedding, that is important to them, after years of back and forth).
Meredith doesn't WANT a wedding in a church with a dress, guests and so on. But she has, however, realized that she wants to spend her life with Derek, and she is brave enough to say it out loud, she is brave enough to try to be happy.
Derek didn't ask her to marry him, and she didn't say yes. They agreed on spending their lives together, and that's the important thing for them. So, after a non-proposal they had a non-wedding - pretty cool, I think.

I saw that interview and from the way PD talked there was no indication that the wedding of MerDer would be revisited, and Mcbaby is nowhere in sight. Ellen and Patrick have said they owe GA fans bigtime, shame Shonda doesn't show the same interest in us fans at times.
It was obvious the wedding plans weren't very Mer centred. I liked the post-it wedding in that Mer got her wish to commit herself to Der forever, but it bugs me that it's not legally recognised. Shonda's flipant remarks about consequences, or whatever are just her trying to maintain our interest?
I'm dreading EP disappearing from any episodes.
I think the trailer thing for Iz and Alex is maybe some spoiler photos of KH, in nightwear, coming out of a trailer. It's not clear whether it's Der's trailer or a cast trailer. Maybe it's Alex and Izzie's honeymoon location? I hope the house of candles becomes reality for MerDer; or that MerDer have their house to themselves soon.

I think that MerDer should be happy for once, the writters need the fans to get settled into their new life BEFORE they make them fight and stuff. I think that in the last few episodes MerDer should have a huge fight (Derek's fault), and they stop talking for a few days, and in the end Derek has a flashback to all his good times with meredith, and then he goes home to apologize to her, and he buys her a great gift, but when he gets back, he see's a note from her, that says something like "I'm pregnant, and i've gone to LA to see addison" or something like that. It would be a clifhanger, and then they have more time to think about weather or not there will be a Mcbaby (because she could be going to Addison for a abortion)

I too wanted Mer to be pregnant at the same time as Ellen, but maybe, like some of you said, it's better to see MerDer being happy ( if the writers let them, once and for all ) for a while and then maybe at the end of S6, we will get the baby... and I agree with ChelseaFC, it won't be easy to find a baby that's cute enough for the both of them ;)

I agree with Patrick Dempsey, I do hope so too that they will include Ellen's pregnancy, because it is a rare incident that the title role is pregnant and at the same time filming her role, it would be great! I like the whole idea that she will shuffle carreer and family life which all women is undergoing and they find it a bit challenging to handle. So i hope Grey's will at least inspire some women in that sense and also they will do things right that before having baby they should get married since Meredith and Derek deserves it. Carreer is good but at the end of the day its relationship that matters a lot.

Patrick Dempsey feels the same way about the show as the fans do, and he sees it the way we do. I am really disappointed with what Shonda has done with MerDer. She is more concerned with where she wants it to end up, that she forgets what the fans and the cast wants. It's really pathetic.
I think MerDer need to get actually married, and build there own house, and she should get pregnant, because it's a really good storyline, and it's what we want to see.

See this is what I love about Patrick Dempsey! He always knows what the fans expect! He always feels the same way as us!
I really hope the post-it wedding was not the official MerDer marriage. A baby would make an interesting story line for Meredith and Derek, but I am not sure if it would be the best thing to do!

I insist, this man should be promoted to Exec. Producer. PD really has a clear vision of what the fans want, especially from his character. I really hope that maybe they are storing the McBaby storyline for once EP returns from maternity leave or at least later this season. I'd be so happy to see the interesting dynamic that comes from it.
I was ok with the post it wedding in the sense of its actual meaning. I knew it's not a wedding but I loved hearing from Mer's mouth that she was ready for it. She didn't want to spend another day not being married to Derek and she's excited about the marriage. I am ok with THAT. I realize that it's not a LEGAL marriage but they are already married in spirit. So we just need them to sign the stupid paper and all done! I doubt it'll happen but I hope it eventually does.
And I did saw the Alex/Izzie take over the wedding. I thought it was stupid because they were just getting married since they both thought she was going to die, and robbed. I did

I'm glad Patrick is speaking up. I have been very disappointed with how Shonda has been doing MerDer. Especially now that Alex and Izzie get to live in Derek's trailer on his land. The MerDer dream house should have went there. Shonda says she is going to do something or at least hint at it then does the opposite.

Thank you Patrick Dempsey for saying it out loud.
Post-it wedding - DOES NOT COUNT. If that's really all it takes to be married, gay and lesbian couples are fighting over nothing, since there are plenty of post-its to go around. Shonda let everyone down BIG TIME. Again.

I just hate Meredith is not going to be on the show until Ellen has the baby. As for the wedding, I really hope there's a bigger one.

I think it's interesting that Patrick seems to feel the same way a lot of fans felt ... "is that it?" I just keep hoping that they'll have a real wedding sometime later on. (A post-it note isn't going to cut it after 5 seasons of suspense!) Still, I thought that scene was sweet and, on the flip side, I never expected to see Izzie and Alex walking down the aisle. Especially given that George, though he appeared pained, got up and essentially was the one to hand Izzie over to Alex. Very emotional.
