The reason I fell in love with gossip girl was right from the first few episodes. They were great. Dan and Serena were like my Marissa and Ryan and Chuck smoked pot and acted like a teenage kid his age. And Jenny didn't have that awful rough rocker look to her.
The reasons I want to stop watching the show now...
Chuck acts old. Seriously, I get it, he's the richest kid in NY but why does he have to dress act and look it. And now he's pretty much married to Blair and not trying to rape underage girls anymore.
Serena is finally getting interesting with being the wild girl she was suppose to be, but still, it seems sooo forced. And Dan needs to get back to stalking her...
Don't get me started on Rufus Lily and a lovechild that's dating Vanessa? Way to epic fail that.
OH, and Gossip Girl is suppose to be something your parents don't want to know you're watching. Not an after school special.
Let there be more drugs, smoking, sex, maybe Jenny getting pregnant... Serena shoul

I know it's only been like 2 episodes into season 3, but the writers REALLY need to brush up on their storylines and characters. Please stop making Serena such a confused mess, it's like they keep changing who her character is and it's beginning to make her come off annoying as if she can't make up her mind when it's really the writers who can't. Blair I feel is beginning to feel relatable but I really do miss the "Queen." I guess it'll take some time for Blair to gain her status again. Chuck is as handsome and charming now that he's with Blair, but there are times I would like to see some drama with him, but not like the whole gentleman's club stuff - that just made no sense. Possibly with Jack Bass coming back in a future episode, there could be some tension between the two especially now that Chuck is dating Blair. I mean imagine how interesting that would be: Chuck and Blair being blissfully happy and then Jack Bass comes back and keeps reminding Chuck about that event between him

@emmie actually Carter and Serena does seem to have alot of chemistry. Serena and Dan do have chemistry but their relationship has gotten really boring. Maybe for you that's not the case but like others after watching the first two episodes and knowing that these two have history together from Season 1 I'm all in it for them.

my POV are:
- Kill Vanessa characters most fanz hate her characters
- MORE friendship interaction between Blair and Serena
- Less NYU, more decadent UES
- Bring back Nate and Serena crush/ love what so ever...
- Stop pairing Nate with others except Serena or jenny since Blair taken

I dont ship one couple, i dont believe i ever said that. I like CB, DS, NJ, NB. I just dont understand the love for Serena and Carter.
I'm not saying that I only want DS, I was simply saying that people who say Serena and Carter had more chemistry than Dan and Serena are blind. Starting with the fact they've only been in two episodes lusting over eachother. Also Penn and Blake are amazing when they act together it's so natural and totally believable...i just didnt buy the kisses shared between Serena and Carter but you can say whatever you want...it's fact, DS so far have had far better chemistry than SC

i think that they should bring Dan ans Serena together:)
and maybe because they are in college, when they were in school it was more better!
and i think it was when chuck and Blair weren't together but wanted to be..:)

Personally, I think the producers have steered GG down a dark path by making each plot focus around social class struggles. I think the viewers are more interested in and entertained by the relationships between the characters than the escalating glam and popularity contests.
I, too, hate Georgina. I mean, she's not all that bad I guess, I just think they're giving her way too much air time. I'm also fed up with all the new random flings. Like Nate/Bree & Dan/Whoregina. I want it to end! Now! ...lol. And there's not enough Chair.. so yeah. :) My two sense ^_^

Y are people blaming the show? First it's the timeslot and second people have things to do on Monday nights like preparing for a test on Tuesday! I know people in my university who are like die-harded fans can't wach it on tv anymore because of the school pressure. That's wat the internet is for. And y r people comparing it with S1&S2 just by waching only 2 darn episodes? Jesus!

Do fewer episodes a year. No wonder the writing is bad, its because they're probably so wiped out. Sopranos used to do 10 episodes a year. British TV only does 6-8 episodes a year. This is how "quality" shows do so well and stay on so long. Because they only have a few episodes a year. Poor GG is forced to do 25 hour-long episodes a year. What do you expect???
I love my GG, and it needs fixing. Help!

The show has so much potential. The directing, the acting, the costumes, the photography - is great. The one downside - and this is HUGE - is the WRITING . While the second episode of Season 3 was good, the first was kind of off and just - bad.
In TV, writers are king, and they really need to step up to make this show a success. Sometimes, they'll skip a scene they've written, or they won't explain when/if something happens. The audience doesn't want that. We want everything explained to us. We need everything explained to us. It makes the show so much more enriching, and it connects us to the characters so much more.
Keep the writing and characters consistent. Do not make them do things out of character.

I hate the social status st NYU right now, Vannessa and Dan popular?
Blair has no friends?
WTF?
Nate hasn't even talked to anyone besides Chuck!
Not enough of Serena and Blair together. I love those scenes!
I like the new time slot, I use to not be able to watch it and now I can!

I just dont understand whyy in earth does Vanessa HAVE to be en every episode. i know she is a regular. BUT ALMOST NOBODY LIKES HER. vanessa should be in a episode just when needed. NOT ONLY BECAUSE SHE IS A REUGULAR.
the writters want to forceed her on us. whyy?
mcolleens
September 25th, 2009 12:05 AM
they should give a bit more background info about vanessa ! she seems so useless to the show because no one understands what the point is in having her there, other than being used a representative outsider of manhattan's elite. they need to build more depth to her character!!
also.. more eleanor and cyrus ! they're too fun.

Teenage angst is alluring. I was attracted to Gossip Girl when I saw Serena's angst. Aspects of Blake Lively as Serena reminded me of Claire Danes in My So Called Life. I could NOT GET ENOUGH of Dan and Serena in the first season. Frankly, I think that the only reason I continue watching Gossip Girl is with the hope of seeing Dan and Serena reunite. I loved their young, innocent, imperfect infatuation. More please!!!

I agree with everyone who has said that everyone has an individual storyline and its not really about the group's friend ships anymore. I miss the old days when gossip girl was all about scandal, parties, pregnancy scares. All of that was what made Gossip Girl different and interesting, now its just blah. Blair who used to be so intersting has gotten whiney and pathetic. Nate is boring, what he needs is to get together with Serena or Jenny because a lot of people want that. Chuck has also gotten boring, all he does now is buisness and make out with Blair, seriously? He needs to do something else for a change. I think some of the most interesting episodes were the aftermath of Bart's death because Chuck just got so much more interesting. Bring back his bad boy ways! Then there's Serena, it just seems that the writers are trying to make the whole show about her and her issues. She's boring now and she has been for a while. Like I said before she needs to get back together with Nate. Dan

We don't need Derena back. We need, finally, some Serenate action. THAT would be awesome. We need the NJBC -together-, not with separate storylines, just having quick chats while walking on the streets.

Vanessa for one -- the producers and writers keep trying to shove her down our throat. We haven't liked her since season 1. Time to move on...
They need to go back and give us more of what we loved in Season One and part of Season Two: let the characters be who they are meant to be. Stop trying to make every character grow up so quickly.
Blair was the crazy bitch in town, but, the writers turned her so whiny, and needy in Season 2. Blair in Season One would have kicked ass, and taken names.
Go back and explore why Blair has no self-esteem and focus on the bulimia story for more than one or two minutes.
Chuck and Blair have so much chemistry yet we rarely see a smoking hot scene. Yes, I understand their relationship is changing a bit and it's more than just sex but, all they did was dance around sex last year. Why not give us more intimate scenes. Really, after 3 months they are bored already and have to invite newbies to keep things interesting? Not with the c

honestly, gossip girl lost its spark. now i'm only continuing to watch it out of habit. poor writing started to show sometime in season 2 and every character was getting annoying. some storylines just crashed and burned and didn't make any sense. writers did a horrible job at making them flow together. plus, a lot of despicable new characters were brought on the show.

DS have better chemistry now, not being together than Carter and Serena do actually being together. The whole Serena wanting to be with Carter is a little out of the blue compared to the evolving love of DS. I'm not saying I want them back together (especially now that they are pretty much siblings) but I cant stand when people say that Serena and Carter have so much chemistry...i dont see it,please tell me where you are getting this "chemistry" from.
