the drama of chuck and blairs cat and mouse games really attracted me. now i love the couple, but i feel that something is missing. i dont want to break up chair, but the show def needs drama ( maybe have someone else try 2 mess em up or them do something crazy and be pulled apart.) the interest of many fans that have now stopped watching is gone bc the cat/mouse dramas were gone. idk what, but just dont mess up chair, bc i think then we'd have some major rating issues :)

Hi, I think is all about the show, IDK maybe because you know the first season involved S having s** with N and it was B's boyfriend, and then One attracting thing was Serena the murderer of someone, and
georgina being such a bitch you know stuff like that, well chair is interesting but they are not playing interesting games like the first two seasons, then
the second season brought us Fashion runaways which i would love to see more( you know the crossover with TBL), Serenas upside downs boring relationships and her friend schemes against our favorite cast, which actually made it work, but in this third so far S is struggling calling attention of his dad in a dumb way, they didn't show but just a taste of the hamptons which actually disappoint me a little, because I guess we wanted more of Jenny and Chair enjoying wealthy life just like the second one before they
go back to school, then georgina seems to be ruining what we actually wanna see: BLAIR being queen of NYU, and anoth

I think both episodes lacked action..they were quire boring comparing with the last episode os season 2 where there was a LOT happening. we need more chair action!!!! more scheming and ploting and gossip. GOSSIP IS MISSING, that will give ratings.

yes europe! , i'm from spain and i know lots of people who watch gossip girl online. Here people is starting to watch the show now but in english, because in a spanish channel they screwed the show up and their voices in spanish sound ridiculous.
i think that nate has to go out or change his personality, i don't like jenny but i think she gives good storylines, dan is interesting just when he is with serena, and about georgina i think she is not necessary we have had enough georgina drama
SURPRISE US!

I think that they may have lost some viewership last season when they would have such long and random hiatuses between episodes, and the scheduling is really eratic. They get such high iTunes sales, most importantly, and DVR viewership that I dont really see ratings as that big of a problem.
Plus, the premeire was not the best episode of the series ever, but second episode was so much better that I think it'll improve on its own. As long as the hiatus problem between episodes doesn't start again this season.

The show was boring... Serena hasn't changed at all, is super boring, and I think her time allotted on the show should be significantly reduced. That would free up more time to delve indepth with other characters, allowing for the expansion of their story lines.

Well obviously there's the whole "competitive time slot" problem but also i guess from season one to now gg's not what it used to be, it lost what made it so unique compared to other teen drama
First, all the characters have their own storyline, but they don't actually involve all of them, and when it does it's so unbelievable (aka highschool students chasing a criminal...gabriel) that you just don't bother to watch that part and wait for the real drama!
Second, I though the show was mainly about Serena and Blair, but you hardly see them treating each other as best friend, except from some flashbacks or when Serena was delusional enough to believe she killed someone. One of them has a problem, the other one make a comment about it or warn her that what she's doing might not be the best way to go, and then woop she goes minding someone else's business! But you don't feel the love anymore!!!! As bestfriends or frenemies they should be able to tell each other everything but noooo
I don't think it has gone downhill at all. Sure things are changing but so far i think they have handled the transition into uni really well. As for the ratings, all i can say is watch it people!
For people who are talking about the timeslot change, i think the only way they can fix that is by advertising the new time more. Other than that i think they first 2 episodes have been awesome!

I believe its advertising and most people do other means of watching the show. I am in college and we don't have time to watch all the shows we love like I miss One Tree Hill because I have night class until 6-9. I miss all the Wednesday shows because of the clubs I am in and my problem is CW takes forever to put up the episodes. I am not worry as Gossip Girl has high itunes sales.

I feel that the show has gone downhill a bit since the first season. Don't get me wrong, I still love the show, but I find myself losing interest in many of the storylines lately.
I feel that Serena has become so completely ridiculous that I no longer care what happens to her. (the scandals to gain her absent fathers attention, not going to college just because, the entire thing with Gabriel last season, etc.) Serena was interesting the first season because she was trying to redeem her wicked ways. Now she reminds me of Lidnesy Lohan: trying to gain attaention at any cost!
I would also love to see Nate character's evolve a bit more. I'm so over seeing him run through a variety of girls and would like to see him in a real relationship (but not with this Bree character, who I find stale and boring).
What I mainly fele is making the show go downhill though is the lack of real intersecting between the characters main storylines. The first season was all about the main characters

And - you don't count internet uses from Europe, do you?

I anticipate 90210 more than I do GG because GG is just all the same over again
Serena drama
Blair's games
It's just going as expected. You know what's gonna happen before it does.
And Nate is a whore.
Come on! He switches girls all the time, everytime a season starts.
I'd definitely watch house!

In my opinion they are making wrong choices , the second part of second season was really boring and repetitive , this , has caused a loss of audience and then , they CONTINUE to center the story on really boRing charachters ,i don't understand why they continue to give less screentime to Jenny she is toghetr to blair the MOST interesting charcter in the series , it's not a case that she almost wasn't in second part of the second season and the ratings have become lower and the story reptitive, even character like Dan , Vnessa, Nate even Chuck (he say alway the same thing with the same expressions!)are BORING but they cintinue tio have more screentime that the interesting character then Blair , Jenn, serena, and then why they can't follow the books in some way , the story will be more easy!

Because I know there is a lot of Dan and Serena fans out there that is pissed off with the writers for screwing them up. We want Dan and Serena. Get them back. Than you will get the ratings again, it will at least help. Chuck and Blair stay the same.
Learn something writers, stop teasing us. Ratings are getting bad. Get Derena back. and by saying they are over for good, is not a wise decision.

The competition on Monday nights at 9. But, that was just last week because HOuse and Heroes had a 2 hr season premiere. They are both on at 8 on Mondays. The only competition GG will have is Dacing with the Stars, and 2 1/2 Men, and I think those three shows are directed towards different areas of age, sex, etc.
I think the main problem this season was the lack of advertising. The premiere was hardly advertised by the CW yet all the other shows were. I think that has a big thing to do with it. Plus I bet they lost a lot of viewers after the crap that happened the second half of last season.
Plus, a lot of people set their DVR, Tivo's and buy GG online. Those sales should factor in as well. So I think that the main problem was the advertising.

I think it was cuz of the new time slot. There are many other shows airing at the same time with GG, and people get confused on which one to watch. Me, for example. =D
They should probably move it. But...yah...if it's not in jeopardy then it's A-OK.
