NYU is not UES enough, at least in the show. They need to rethink that. Like posy and others before said it, there are already enough teens shows about badly dressed people partying.

The storyline and quality of the show has gone downhill. I used to be so eager to watch the next episode. But now, It's not like i can't wait. Bring back Blair on top! and please don't give V so much airtime. It's irritating. Honestly!

Why are they perpetually forcing Vanessa down our throats? I have this irrepressible urge to smack my laptop screen shut each time she shows up. And the love-child angle was potentially interesting until they killed it with the creepy actor (and hooked him up with V... urgh). Serena's flakiness is completely pointless - if she was going to dump Brown at least it could've been for a better reason, like going to find her dad. And Carter is just plain weird. I thought Dan was quite in his element - until he hooked up with G.
One thing I don't get is why they chose NYU to be the main setting of season 3. No disrespect, NYU is a great school, but it lacks the snooty prestige and eliteness we all watch GG for. Like someone said earlier, if I wanted kegs and badly dressed people partying, I'd just watch another teen show. It's understandable they want to try keep the characters in NYC but honestly?

Getting DS back together to improve the ratings must be the joke of the century! They do nothing for the ratings; they're boring, they have no chemistry; Serena only mumbles around Dan; Dan is a jerk to Serena; they're siblings now; they're tolerable as friends, as lovers they're an epic fail!

season one was definitely the best.. maybe because im a huge dan and serena fan, but i think a lot of people would agree that the writers should somehow bring dan and serena back together

1. It's missing Gossip Girl...she used to be a big part of the show with her quirky remarks and original slogans. They need to have more Gossip Girl!!!! The only time we have heard from her is at the beginning of each episode!
2. Nate. I love Nate. But not when his storylines are incredibly stupid. He needs to dump Bree and do something exciting for once. Nate has never really had good storylines for a while now...the last good one I can actually remember is Nate/Jenny, Nate/Catherine, and back in season one when Chuck was screwing Blair and Nate was screwing blair.
3. I hate the guest stars. Bree is absolutely terrible. Joanna Garcia is the worst actress. Bringing Jack Bass is a terrible idea because it obviously was not a good idea to bring him into the picture in season 2, so it wont be any good in season 3. I seriously dont understand why almost every episode has to have a guest star. Sometimes they work. Examples would be Carter and Georgina. Having almost every

Honestly, maybe people just have never given it a chance. I have several friends who had never seen an episode, and then I had them watch the DVDs and they became hooked immediately.

Anyway, for changing the show, I agree with most people on here that Serena was at her best in season 1 when she was with Dan. Idk why they're making her think suddenly that she's meant to be with Carter, doesn't she know what he's like? Dan hasn't been THAT bad for this season (except for Georgina...), but I think Serena HAS. Definitely, she was better in season 1.

It might be the new time slot... On the day of the second episode, I didn't record it because I already had 2 things schedueled for DVR. But, it might of been because Heroes went until 10 that night. On any other night, it'll just be until 9...........

the show completely SUCKS now. i hate to admit it. the first season of GG is flawless. it was so so so amazing. second season was completely boring and it sucked way bad and now season 3 is sucking worse than season 2. it keeps going downhill. the storylines are boring and the characters arent the same as they were in season one, theyre completely different. if they can make season three feel like season one, id love the show. i really dont like this show very much anymore and that is heartbreaking.

I LOVE GOSSIP GIRL but i dnt know what happened this season it suddenly just got really really boring! the only interesting part is chuck and blair! but everything is so boring... nate is always hooking up with some girl... and wtf dan and georgina? that is so unoriginal..? blair as a loser? come on.....
i think the reason why the ratings dropped is cuz first of all the season premiere was quite bad... and then shows like 90210 got so much better! and a lot of ppl like me watch it in the internet.. i dnt live in the US and they dnt show season 3 on television in europe so a lot of ppl watch it on the internet

i sooo want chair as a couple, but not with a third party and by the way, chuck getting angry at blair for pimping him out (while it was wrong) is like nate gettin angry in 2x21 accept her for who she is!!!!!!
they better not make it totally on/off. i hated what leighton meester said. i dont really care if its 'hot' i just want it to have substance!!!!

Wow, some people really slating the show. It has changed from season 1 that is inevitable, every show settles down from its manic first season when the producers are trying to grab viewere and get a second season. The second season was not half as bad as some people are making out- it was good! Third season admittedly hasn't got off to a great start, but to be fair, surroundings have changed so it will take time to settle down. Keep positive everyone, GG will be fine! It just needs abit more.. gossip! XOXO

There are some seriously whiny comments and this is supposed to be from a major fanbase. Just appreciate the show no matter who you hate or don't hate and who sucks and doesn't suck... The way people are reacting its like a life or death situation. Its fluffy entertainment get over it and watch it.

the show has gotten downhill tbh, this season everyone has their own storylines(most of them boring) and never got to see them interact with each other as in season 1.
plus, stop bringing guest stars every 3 episodes!!!!! im ok with georgina in fact i think she should be a regular, but c'mon, hilary duff? tyra banks? and that bree chick? BOOOOOORING!
the writers need to focus on the main characters, not the recurring ones and bring the dramz!!! the dark atmosphere, the parties and stuff, not boring polo match's and tea parties.

i agree, all the storylines are of individual characaters and their plots dont intertwine anymore, i mean nate and bree, blair and nyu, serena and carter, dan and fucking useless vanessa, and whore gina....why dont they ever do anything ALL TOGETHER!! its like different tv shows mixed together!!
and the showtime must have something to do with it! and the age group that watches it usually has to do homework and stuff, so that's why gossip girl has never had many views! lots of people watch it online..probably more than than the people who watch it on tv! especially since they dont repeat episodes!
and im not even excited for gossip girl now..ill give it a chance since its only the beginning of the season and they need time to insert drama...but 90210 is kinda better now than gg....i hate to admit it, because i want to love gossip girl so much. its sad for gossip girl faniacts

I really like Serena in the first season and the first part of the second season before she broke up with Dan, I think she was amazing, at least I felt connected to her character and drawn by her relationship with Dan...however, this season, she seems so out of character, trying too much to gain attention...which is really uninteresting and annoying. I watched season 1 on dvd and finished it within a week, however, when it comes to season 3, I don't have the anticipation as season 1, even after I recorded the new episode, I don't feel like watching it right a way. Please write a better storyline for Serena and keep her relationship with Dan, I think she is more attractive when she is with Dan.

a lot of people agree. DS need to be together. 2nd Season ruined them and that has lost a lot of viewers already. bring them back, and it will improve the ratings.

Well I strongly agree that the show would survive even without the character Vanessa. Maybe Vanessa could be accidentally killed by Blair and Georgina and they could form an alliance. I would like to see Blair blending in and trying to be a normal college girl, joining the parties, wearing normal clothes and actually having fun and getting drunk. It's like a temporary transition but deep inside she's liking it. That could be a challenge for Chair relationship, just to spice things up. Then Serena will be jealous at the new Blair and Georgina BFF thing going on not knowing that they actually have a deep dark secret (killing Vanessa) and seek the company of Nate. Nate should stop alienating himself from the group. They should stop bringing in new characters and concentrate on the original. Love Chair by the way.
