Pam, I couldn't agree more. Its not like they are really apart anyway. They're still all making googly eyes at each other than Serena goes add and decides Carter is randomly the one. Then dan loses his mind (or has his beer spiked with acid) and hooks up with georgina. WTF? Just get together already we know you just wanna lock yourselves up in a room in screw like bunnies. Stop wasting our time with Serena's greasy-haired losers and Dan's psychotic nymphos

For me, DS is like Ross/Rachel. I love them together, sure, but after a lot of on-again off-again storylines, I like them being apart for a few time, being with another people, randomly hooking up at some point, & then just get together by the final season.
This is what me and several of my GG-fans-friends think...
I think because of the whole boring and too-ridiculous story..
I love chair so much, but their game in the first episode this season? Extremely weird!! I love them when they're in season 1, cat and mouse game, but still realistic, not some boring game like this new one..
Fashion is one important thing.. me n my friends are so in love with the girl's clothes in season 1, in the end of season 2, all of my friends said that the clothes are not as good as before.. especially Blair,, what's wrong with her classy style?? she looks like my granny!! and definitely her hair color and style is pretty disturbing,,
music : i love episode 2 season 3 musics (and the episode when there's No Doubt),not some lame boring instrument like most of the episodes...
and the most important thing is the story continuity in one season,, i hope they're not trying to make plots and more plots and more, then just leave it like that..

I totally agree Marcy. Dan and Serena are amazing on this show and I want them back together. They are only themselves when they are together and even when they are apart, they still are all up in each others lives, so just be together. They need to stop fighting it and say F U to their parents.
WTF is up with Carter? He needs to wash his hair and take a shower. Smelly boy.

Why the HELL are DS not together? They both suck and do shity ass things when they try to be apart. Just lock those 2 in a room and let them go crazy with each other, they know they want it. Damn RL who no one cares about anyway. I say that Dan and Serena forget about them and have sex on their bed multiple times.

for everyone who doesn't understand why they changed the timeslot, i'm pretty sure that the answer is that secret life would take all of the viewers. secret life of the american teenager and GG have a very similar target market, but secret life would end up getting the viewers. they probably didn't think that as many other shows in this timeslot have the same audience as GG, so there wouldn't be as much competition.

I think the problem with the show comes in three forms.
1. Its threw away organic storytelling in favor of OMFGs and making characters do stuff that doesn't seem to fit their characterization only to take it back again. Example dan sleeping with the teacher, Serena throwing away her need to better herself, Blair for the entire second season.
2. Forgetting about friendships: Even SB seem to have a friendship on paper. We hear about, but we don't see it. CN has been brutalized in the name of NBC the triangle from hell. DN is like this fluffy thing we hear about but don't see. Jenny is like not there and way too much Vanessa
3. Letting the stories flow-into each other/cast interaction. This show worked best when you saw all the different degrees of relationships and how they were intertwined. They also effed with a major couple in favor of OLD PEOPLE. This a teen drama not Young and Restless nobody cares about Rufus and Lily with the exception of a few people who live in Germany.
Every time Vanessa comes on screen I fight the urge to turn the channel! And her accent makes my ears want to bleed.

Ohmygod. I just read your comment, and you literally are spot on with everything I feel. Here is my comment on this post from the other day. I want you to see how similar are feelings are:
I really miss the first season- especially the pilot. Ohmygod. The pilot was amazing. Remember how much Dan cared about Serena, and how in AWE he was that he finally had a shot with her? And how devilish and controversial Chuck was? I loved the drama in Nate and Blair's relationship, and seeing how internally-tormented Serena was.
Seriously, I wish the charm could have poured over into the second and third season. I hated the second season. The second season premiere ruined Dan and Serena; Chuck and Blair became too repetitive. Poor Nate lost all storylines. Lily and Rufus got REALLY irritating. Blair's adorable style was gone [atleast in my opinion], and the Vanessa/Nate/Jenny thing made me GAG. I find it really irritating that when Taylor changed her style fro

Just like I predicted.....same thing that happened to the O.C.
Josh Schwartz or wtv has a tendency to re-do the same things and he's ruining GG..
I mean, the story is boring now..it's not the same excitement that was there in S1.
It's happened like this to a lot of shows..once they leave high school, it just sucks....should have kept them in high school longer...
Vanessa sucks...
Nate sucks....
Dan and Serena not together sucks...
Making Chuck and Blair "interesting" by always implying cheating sucks....

seems like there is a repetition of comments here and I completely agree with them especially jenny and eric friendship
I think we just hav to be patient
I remember the first 3 episodes of season 2 where the whole marcus thing completely destroyed gossip girl
we were all wrong about that after watching the epsiode "the ex-files" where gossip girl redeemed itself completely by shocking audiences
As serena said "let nature take its course"

the writers know how to shock us and if there's anything I've learned is to not expect so much out of everything, its only a show and I still do think that gossip girl is the best show created since the oc

well these characters (nate, serena etc.) are nyc socialites,
their supposed to meet with new people and have tons of friends

FRIENDSHIP: Show more of the friendship dynamic on this show...Blair seemed all about Chuck last season...bring the SB love back again. And the CN and DN friendships. I'd like to see Dan and Blair finally be friends too.
ENOUGH WITH THE GUEST STARS: Seriously. You have a cast of great characters. Utilize them! Enough with the stupid guest people who are gone in up to 5 episodes. They waste time. Give screentime to those we care about.
Rufus/Lily: Need to stop. Or fade into the dark background. This is a teen show. I care about the teens and their drama. I don't care about RL and their tragic depressive 20 year romance that never was. Seriously, kill me when they're married.
...and they have a kid? Worst storyline ever.
Chuck and Blair: Clearly, their spice works - so keep it. I had/have a feeling they'll make them boring. They're lure is the game, so have them play it. Chuck is 18 and he acts like he's 60. I did like him in 3x02, however. Business man Chuck was cool.

gossip girl may not get high ratings like other shows but they never really have before. cw keeps renewing episodes because gossip girl always tops itunes for the most downloaded episode. they usually are always number 1 the very next day and that keeps the cw from keeping gossip girl on air. as long as they don't do anything to screw up chuck and blair like they did with serena and dan, things will be fine, hopefully. the moment they break chuck and blair up, the ratings go down

I think it's because gossip girl only show in America, when actually there are lots of people outside of America who love it. I mean, i think CW should air gossip girl in other countries, such as: singapore, indonesia, the rating will be high

One more reason why Vanessa need to go is that she is like a black hole. Whoever gets involved with her character become inherently lame and isolated from every other good story line. Think about Dan, Nate,Chuck (that one time), Scott...I feel sorry for them.

I think all these are contructive comments and not complaints. In fact most fans' views are in line. There are just so many ways the writers and producers can make the show jucier and sexier like before.
But more importantly, can anyone suggest how we can make sure these comments get to the hands of the producers/writers/CW ? Will they actually read them on GGInsider ?
