Shouldn't Callie KNOW if he is George or not? She was freaking married to him. You get to know your partner's body parts very well after being married to the person!

I think Shonda is playing it well...George is dead, or will die, we've seen too much evidence to still have hope for the contrary...I mean, not just the funeral, all the statements the actors have given in interviews etc...but I think Shonda will nevertheless put a twist in it.
It MIGHT really not be Goerge who's lying on the table, Lexie MIGHT be right, thus everyone will have hope again..that'll explain the sneek peek we've seen when Alex takes Izzie home...they're all very high spirited and everything. They couldn't possibly be that cheerful if they KNEW George's daead!
So, I think Jon Doe is not George, everyone is happy and everything...and then, maybe at the end of the firsthour of the season premiere, they will get a call from George's mum or somehow they'll find out that George died in the army or something...and THEN we'll see the funeral.
That still doesn't explain 007, I have to admit, but again,this is my wild guess...
Shonda simply needs to add a twist to the permier

So Dimples, you are saying you want George to be dead? I thought you were a George fan, confused.
I like Owen but there is no excuse here. George just died fgs, does he have to ask about this NOW? Geez, he was hugging George a few hours before and now he's like iceman when he dies.
And yep Derek shwoed more emotion for stranger patients.
I was wondering whether to watch or not but those two SP convinced me not to.
What a huge elt down but then as a George and Gizzie fan, I'm more than sued to being let down by Shonda, which is why I won't subject myself to anymore disappointment.

Okay, clearly everyone is in shock still. I do not think that Owen was insensitive at all, he's had to deal with a lot of death and wants to know who he can save because his friend died. Everyone doesn't have to look sad right away, like Mer said, denial is a huge thing when it comes to death. My best friend was killed in a car accident last year and everyone reacted differently. A lot of people didn't believe it for a while. I think all the actors did a good job. Some are just in shock, some are in denial, and some are in hysterics. Don't make Owen out to be a bad guy when he just wants to make the best of the situation. Clearly they can't save George anymore so they might as well save someone else. This looks like a great start to the season, although I do wish George didn't have to die.

And too Izzy just coded and alot of them where with her. I"m super excited about the premiere. If Shonda has pulled a quick one on us I'm going to be pissed. But on the other hand. I feel like it is George. Lexie may not be wanting to except the facts. So she thinks it isn't him. Whoever said that Callies reaction was not very good acting was so wrong. She did a great job. She loved him inspite of not being treated so well by him and Izzy. I thought it was very sweet when she told him that she loved him once. And told him to go be with Izzy she was his best friend.

I think everyone is in shock. As for Derek, he keeps looking at Meredith waiting for her to freak out. He didn't console Callie because his wife is standing there in shock, and he's waiting for her to freak out. You have to remember also, a lot of people probably don't even know that the John Doe is George, so they are hearing all at once that he's John Doe, and he's brain dead. Its understandable that they would be in shock at first and then they would break down.

Wow, this sucks. George is my favorite character and I have been crying so hard since I learned he was dying, but I didn't cry one tear watching this. Derek is usually so upset when a patient dies. He was so upset about that pregnant lady, and he always cares about his patiebnt. He had a depression about losing more patients than saving them, and this is someone he knows and he doesn,t react at all. Heck, he didn,t even react to consiole Callie at all, who seemed the only one upset btw. And what is up with Owen? I don't know if he knew about Callie and george but any blind person would know she cared by her reaction yet he still kept asking about George being a donor.
It feels like Shonda wants George to be forgotten as quick as possible to me and not one of them except Callie seems upset.
Mer has this blank face. George was one of her best friends!
This better pick up because those five minutes are really bad.

I think out of the two Grey sisters Meridith would know a whole lot better if it was George or not. But for the chief to go ahead and call his mom and say hes dead over the phone come on you don't do anything without a 100% being sure.

In my opinion, Owen was being insensitive in regards to his asking if George was a donor. In his defense, his insensitivity is justifiable. If you'll remember he actually had a conversation with the therapist in which he admits to 'feeling nothing'. And it takes so much for him to recognize a feeling of guilt later on.
And as for everyone else's reaction... I think they were just all in shock. It takes a very long time for the reality of such a situation to set in. I'm sure you'll get the hysterical reaction you're looking for sooner or later.
Well, the soft and naive side of me is saying, "Oh, maybe this is one giant ruse created by TR and Shonda and the rest of the cast and crew. Maybe it's not George." But the other side of me is facing the cold reality. I think Shonda is just playing with us, as we all know she likes to do. Just to keep a infinitesimal amount of hope in us that George is still alive. She's evil, that woman.

Now that I watch the clip again, was Owen aware of the whereabouts of the many relationships that went on at SGH? Meaning the marriage of Callie and George.
Because if he did, then he could've whispered or excused himself and talk to Derek and ask him or something like that.
Now, if he didn't...then I can't honestly blame the guy I guess. I thought wrong timing but no judgment since he doesn't know better.
Being hardened due to several losses doesn't accredit saying something like that to others who aren't used to.

I wonder if we are not being bamboozled. If Lexie is right and the patient is to tall too be George, how to explain the funeral and 007. The funeral pictures can be explained by another death to which they would all attend in respect....TheChief's niece who had terminal ovarian cancer. But the 007 has me curious....I want to re-watch that episode and watch him trace in her hand again....I'm off to buy the videos tomorrow!

Maybe it's not him and Shonda is just trying to confuse us. I just have many Questions. Can't Wait. September 25 is almost here.

I don't think owen was trying to be insensitive though it definitely seemed that way. I think that for him he is trying to handle the situation by saying like ok I can't save him who can I save as a result of his death. Someone like him who's so hardened to losing colleagues would need to learn to respond goths tragedy by looking for the possibility of good coming out of it and probably immediately to keep the emotions at bay. I still agree that he should have waited til people were out of the room though.

Guys, you forgot something : the doctors (specially owen and derek) weren't 100% sure that john doe is george.. meredith just told them : John Doe is George.. don't expect them to just believe it at 100%.. the thing was very fast too.. all the doctors are in shock.. and i am sure if you were in their shoes, you would also react like owen or derek did.. srry bad english ..
