Shonda, YOU ARE A GOD! Messing like that with our minds!
It's so obvious George's dead! But we can't help thinking 'what if' after that damn video!

I completely agree with Caroline, I think Owen is just so used to being in traumatizing situations because of his military experience. He has to repress things and then deal with it later in therapy....he has to detach himself from the situation. Callie on the other hand- that was AMAZING AMAZING acting...I was so impressed.....

About Owen - I thought the same thing!! so insensitive! All that's missing in his line is "Well..this one is a goner. Anyone up for drinks later?" It sure seems he's thinking that! lol!
About Lexie's statement..it did get me wondering. Don't know what to think, really. Racionally it's obvious that he's dead. But is he? lol!
About reactions: You guys do love the drama, huh?! What were you expecting? People crying their eyes out? They're in shock, obviously.
PS: Are there any doctors in here to answer me this? - Can a person in izzie's condition wake up from coding just like that? Literally wake up? bizarre!!

Derek was not reacting to Bonnie's death, he was reacting to choosing Addison over Meredith, to doing what was right instead of following his heart.

Derek's reaction to Bonnie's death was one of his shining moments. I always loved how much he cared about his patients, so I wouldn't hold this against him.
I think all those doctors did get attached to Bonnie. She was so full of life and such a good person.
I agree about Derek not being that close to George, but Owen was his mentor not just a colleague. He believed in George and saw in him the great next trauma doctor *Kevin McKidd said so himself).
I don't expect him to cry big tears because they knew each other a short amount of time, but he knows those people are close to George so I do wonder about him asking if he's a donor straight away.
That was very insentive. Even if George was just a distant collegaue, and not his protege, that's not something you say when someone just died.

Callie's reaction was so sad. She obviously still had feelings for George. Bailey was also clearly in shock. She thought all was going to be fine because they saved Izzie, not knowing that she had lost one of her other interns. One of her other "children". Ready for next week!

Derek cried because he had broken Mer up. He knew it. Bonnie's death was his breaking point. The speech about love? (If love were enough...), not because of Bonnie. It had double sense.
Seriously, no one can't use that against Derek. It wasn't even about the patient.
Being friendly is something but that was it. Derek and George had a moment of bonding. Was there more?
My point is that if they don't show the level of devastation expected from Derek or Owen (I'm not expecting much more than being there for their respective ladies), it's not due to their insensibility but because of their distant relationship to George. They lost a colleague, not a friend.
Is Owen aware of George/Callie/Izzie debacle? I wonder because if he didn't knew anything then I guess I can't call on his statement but if he did, I wished he waited until Mer or Callie got out of the OR and discussed it with Derek.
Callie

I thought Owen liked George too. I know he's used to it, but couldn't he have shown a little bit of sadness? I'm a Gizzie fan so I hope Izzie's reaction doesn't let me down too.
Callie broke my heart. Why didn't Bailey react at all? Is she in shock? She loved George a lot, and they were so close. I expected more.

Owen isn't acting cold! When you look at his eyes you see his grief. But he is used to handle situations like this because he was in Iraq. He has to react logical to save other lives.
I really wish that it is not George, that he is on his way to Iraq and maybe back next season, but I think that John Doe is he and Lexie is, as others said before, just denying the situation. I really cried my heart out in this few minutes - what a start! I hardly can wait 'til next week!

Bailey had to stop the elevator when Bonnie died so Derek could cry. George and Derek were pretty friendly and he and Owen hugged each other when they left. So yes, they were kind of close. I agree with Dee, it was very insensitive of Owen to say something like that. Didn't Derek and George even bond over Callie and Mer?
I no way have made my peace with George dying. He should never ever have been killed.
I wanted to watch the funeral but this doesn't make me want to watch. I have been disappointed enough as it is as a George fan the last two years.

Dee,
In Derek's defense, one he's wearing a mask, no able to tell what his expression is. Second, technically he isn't dead and wasn't that close to George. If you see the pictures of the funeral, he clearly looks upset. So does Owen.
I agree about being quite insensitive of Owen but truth is that neither Derek or Owen have a huge reason to be devastated. Upset sure but...it's not like they were all friends.
Oh, and we all know that Derek wasn't upset that much about Bonnie's death. ;)

Lexie is clearly in disbelief but I loved the preview. I think it's the foreshadowing about which of the 5 stages is going to be dominating each of the characters.
A little insensitive of Owen to just say it out like that. I'd waited a while or waited for Mer and Callie to be outside. But I don't know if Owen is aware of the multiple relationships in SGH.
Dee
September 14th, 2009 3:23 PM
That's it? Why does Callie seem the only one upset? I can't believe Owen's first comment was asking if he was a donor. I thought Owen liked George., How cold was that?
If the rest of the episode is like this, I'm feeling very underwhelmed. This is someone they loved who died. Derek reacted more when Bonnie died.

it IS george, the significant part of lexie's comment was when she said that the man on the table looks taller than george was, but she is wrong, he only didnt SEEM tall because he was in the background a lot, i.e. no body noticed when we was gone the day he left and got hit by the bus

The way I see it, you can't take anything for certain when it comes to Grey's. If TR has been playing a trick this entire time it'd piss off a LOT of magazines and people and let's be honest, he'd have had to return to filming by now so would the paps not have already seen him?

Lea, I was thinking that, too. What if George being written off the show was a total trick and he IS still going to be there. But you're right, that doesn't explain the 007 part... They probably released this just to mess with our minds!
Smoker, Lexie says, "Look at his feet, look how tall he is."
Well, whatever happens, I am definitely excited for the premiere, though I think its gonna be gut-wrenching and tear- jerking. Only 10 more days!!!!

woww .. it seems a good episode .. i was dreaming maybe shonda told T.R Knight to say that he is written off the show, and the actors to also say this to the press .. maybe john doe isn't george .. and george is gone to the army.. u really don't feel it's weird that all the secrecy is gone, and the cliffhanger has been solved 1 month after the finale ?? I guess there is something wrong , and i think we all gonna be very surprised .. it's shonda strategy always .. just my opinion .. but i keep asking myself .. why if it's not george , how he wrote 007 on meredith's hand ??
