It's no secret at this point that Sydney is killed in the opening minutes of the Melrose Place series premiere.

Still, Laura Leighton will be featured often throughout season one via an assortment of flashbacks.

The actress spoke to TV Addict earlier this week about returning to the residence that made her famous over a decade ago:

On why she came back to Melrose Place: “Who wouldn’t want to come back and play the character again?” exclaimed actress Laura Leighton when asked by the TV Addict to explain what drew her back to the role that put her on the map. “Sydney was one of my favorite characters ever to play and to get the opportunity to do it again… well, it was sort of a no-brainer.”

On whether Sydney is actually dead: “I can’t speak for the writer’s intentions. I’m just going along for the ride.”

That ride begins again this Tuesday, September 8.
