Grey's Anatomy Episode Guide: "I Saw What I Saw"
Thursday night's episode of Grey's Anatomy saw 12 doctors saying they saw 12 different things in a scene reminiscent of ER. But it was one mistake early on that led to a fatal chain of events for a patient and landed a doctor out on the street in search of a new job.
April blew it. A routine check of a patient's throat would have revealed unhealthy carbon monoxide levels early and saved her, but the room was chaotic and she dropped the ball.
Still, it was just a mistake, and as Derek said, perhaps the blame should be placed on the man who can't get the hospital under control or on the same page. Harsh, but true.
For the complete rundown of the episode, which employed a very different story-telling method than any we've seen so far, check out our episode recap of "I Saw What I Saw."
Within the episode main page you will see links to Grey's Anatomy quotes, music, photos and videos, which we're working on compiling. These are available for every episode!

Lexie: Mark, I'm dying. Please tell Meredith I love her and that she is a good sister.

two episodes after the merger, there are things that don't seem very real:
first, the fact that the merger puts everyone in angry competition. In real life people don't behave like this. If you come to a new place, you measure your competitors, you try to be good, you try to show off but not in these terms. Competition grows with time when characters know each other better. Not like this, in one go, immedietely fighting over a locker
- second, I don't understand why only residents are put at test. Didn't Mercy west have any attendants? where are these people? why aren't Owen, Derek, etc...facing the same competition? they seem to fear for their jobs but there is no-one new to compete against
- finally, why is that the attendants were always favouring MW residents in the first episode after the merger? that didn't sound neither real nor very fair.
I think this effort to make us hate MW people from thh start is really a pitty. If the evolution would have been slower in ter

ikinda like this episode.. interesting.. igot the point.. i also notice at first that dr kepner did not finish examining the patient. but because of the chaos and the competition bet mercy wester and seattle grace, u will never notice it.. she seem ok. like what chief said, a simple mistake could lead to everything... so its about chief... the episode is not about the patient nor the her doctors.. its about chief and his issues.. love dr. shepherd at the end of the episode..

Ah someone else has noticed that Der forgot to give Mer a kiss when he collected her to go home. We can but hope that the writers do correct this error in future weeks, but unstteled times ahead for Der and his marriage to Mer. That stinks!

This was an interesting episode I enjoyed it and it kept my interest the whole way through. I am a bit fed up with the writers don't they compare notes and discuss episodes when they are writing them and discuss characters?? I think the writers take their turns to write an episode and one week you have great interaction between merder and chris and owen then the next week nothing its like they are all sexy on one week and next week they are only room mates!! Come on greys writers I know ellen is pregnant but they didn't write this in the show its like everyone is scared to put merder in the same space. If they wrote a pregnancy into the show they would have had a lot of story lines to go with just come on greys we are real people who watch and I kiss my other half everyday before we leave the house 1st episode merder were going for it so mer could forget george was dead what a couple of weeks later they dont even kiss anymore??? Wish the writers would read some of these comments they

Just please don't get me wrong. The episode was well directed and acted. Very different and interesting in keeping our attention. It could have been a great episode IF they had a better plot line. Just it. They don't need an interrogatory to know why the patient died. Any doctor should be able to look at the chart and realize April, the first doctor with the patient, missed something. They are too good doctors to not know it. It’s Major Owen Hunt's ER! Come on! That's my point.
I am a GA fan and I'll be until Meredith and Derek were in the show.
I'll miss George forever. No one will take his place for me.
I'm open to change until they keep focus on the characters we love. Has to be a balance between the new and the old. And they did it already at season 4 with the new interns. Lots of them but besides Lexie no one earned my attention. And Lexie had a long path to grow and became a fan favorite.
I want GA to last. But I like Friends way more than ER one. I saw both shows. All F

First of all, I thought this episode was well written. It was intense, breathtaking and wild. Definitely a different side of Grey's that we've never seen before.
Secondly, I don't get why everyone's suddenly hating Grey's. Is it because one person said so and everyone's jumping on the bandwagon? I don't even see a reason to hate it.
Everyone's saying "Oh, it's so different. Writing sucked. I rather watch CSI. Blah blah blah." In the first place, the tagline for Season Six is "The Season That Changes Everything". Which is self explanatory. Which equals to "It's going to be a different side of Grey's." Which means everyone has been warned. Which means "Why are you complaining about it when a warning sign has been posted up?"
Furthermore, Shonda has a vision for Grey's. She wants it to be a show that can last for a couple of seasons, something along the lines of ER. That's why there's a dramatic change in the storyline and direction of the show. So there's something to build on.

Considering all the other comments, although some said it sucked but the episode's pretty effective right? I mean, it's basically chaotic, devastating, shocking, and all but it caught our attention and made each of us speculate and investigate and have this "want" to know the truth. It's much like a guessing game --- the way the case was presented made the episode INTRIGUING all the more.
I just feel sorry for Meredith being ignorant of all the events. It would have been more exciting if she was there but I do understand the circumstances.

Seriously, EmmaGrace? they filmed this episode weeks ago - -they would not go back to supposed "old ways" in a 7 day period because Callizona is "too much for some people." That's just not possible, nor is it even logical. Shonda and Co are committed to the gay cause and they work hard to keep homosexuality presented as a normal, committed relationship between normal people. That's my take on it. I'm glad they got rid of Hahn, NOT because she was gay, but because she was so damn unlikeable.
And, ye gods, there's so many hookups in this series that the writers can't give screentime to them all every week or we might as well just be watching General Hospital. Callizona will be back.
Different tangent: I thought the filmography in this epi was superb.

Ok, honestly.. i would rather watch ghost sex scene again than last episode. It kind of reminded me of ER with all the chaos.. and we did have episodes with lots of trauma cases like with the train accident in season 2 or ferry in season 3 .. but it was more interesting.. more GA.. had that personal touch and humor... couple of last episodes are getting sooo boring. It is not GA anymore.. new people have to go !!!! Too bad we can't get George and Burke back :(( Well George is gone for good but there is always a place for Burke.. Christina was so much better with him... I even miss Addison and McSteamy, cause now since he is with Lexie his is a different kind of character... I liked him cocky and arrogant :>
First three seasons were rocking.. now it is not the same anymore..
