I really liked this episode. Might be because I'm a guy. Nice break from all the sad season 6 drama and just great non-stop action (almost like a detective show).

okay, i liked this episode. a lot of people here didn't and some did so i wanted to vote on the yay side! and for all of you people complaining about the lack of merder scenes (which i do miss dont get me wrong!) EP was PREGNANT! like about to pop pregnant! it's amazing we have ANY merder at all. and the reason why mer asked derek what happened at the end is bc he was acting weird and didn't kiss her and be happy. and stop complaining about the lack of Calzona--last week had a lot of them. that's how it goes one week we see more of one couple the next it changes. next week looks like its all about Derek--which NO one should complain about : ) !

Like Dr. Bailey said last week, I find myself looking for the joy. After this episode, I fear she's right: the joy has packed its bags and left.

Maggie Grace? Seriously? No, she doesn't look like Maggie Grace at all...:p

The best part of this episode was Arizona's speech to Lexie.

Other than that, the only thing going through my mind the entire time was "Where the hell is the Chief while all of this is going down?" A situation that chaotic, and he was nowhere to be found the entire time? Come on. For once, I'm with Derek. The Chief should have been the one fired at the end of this episode, not the poor MW girl.

Oh, and for a second I thought Cathy (the patient that died) was Maggie Grace. The actress looked a lot like her.

i loved this episode. thought it was different and great. my only issue was the firing of the new girl April. i liked her character better than the red head.

I really liked this episode, in fact, I think it's the best of the season so far. And I like having new people, it makes things more interesting. The show's on the verge of getting repetitive and boring and I'm glad the writers are smart enough to mix things up a little. I think I'm going to grow on the new people.

I understand where the people who hate them are coming from, though. When you like a show/character so much it's difficult to see them getting their asses kicked by new characters you don't know--Izzie getting fired was bitter to swallow, but I don't think they're gonna put anyone else in danger. If anything else, this is a chance to shift the story's focus on more medical stuff, and the characters can renew the spunk they first had many seasons ago. There has been too much sleeping around between the characters, IMO.

love this episode. i'm starting to like the new kids and to see christina defended april instead of totally blaming her was really something. i hope they can be friends to fill the void leave by george and izzie.

    Oh, forgot to say:

    Bravo- still!- to Sandra Oh.
Meredith Grey, the fictional character, may be the show's moral compass/heart for me.. but Sandra Oh is a non-fictional, actor-high-point- always a pleasure to see in action.

The two of 'em Meredith and Cristina/Ellen and Sandra are terrific fun. Thanks!

First episode I was made to care less about the characters-we've-come-to-know-in-scrubs than the fate of the young woman patient's inexorable decline.. and death.

Interesting choice by the shows' creator, S Rhimes! Why not use the show to bring important, other perspectives to the fore?! It's a long-running 'show'- plenty of time to explore complex, sometimes contradictory forces that come to bear in the everyday workings in a hospital..

I, for one, was glad I waited to watch the episode until Friday night (online)! because I was put under general anaesthesia for the first time on Friday morning- and watching beforehand.. who knows? I might have been worried who, around me in the OR, was too exhausted, too pre-occupied, too rushed to, um.. do their job! :-)

i hated this episode and i totally agree with you mari, the episode just sucked and we need more couple scenes ,i missed izzie, her leaving wasn't handled well at all,i loved the scene where alex fought that stupid mercy western guy,i hate them all so much

THe episode had a different feel to it, that does need to happen from time to time. So many of the docs had their own agendas and distractions. Alex trying to get hold of Iz, the MWers envying SGH residents their work load. Have to say Callie did a better job at directing the docs this episode than when she was chief resident. Chaos. No named doc responsible for the dying patient. Not good

Personally, I think it was a really good episode. It was different from the previous and I liked the different points of view on the different scenes (but I would not appreciate an episode like that every week).

I am a bit disappointed that April was fired because she was the Mercy Wester I hated the less and she is not the first one to commit a mistake (Alex sort of killed a guy in season 2 because he ordered a wrong amount of saline solution I think) but I'm happy that it was not a Seattle Grace Doctor who got fired. Even if I really dislike her since she arrived, Reed marked a few points by defending April I think that she was really courageous to admit that April was better than her.

I really loved Lexie in this episode she seems really nice. The storyline of Alex-Izzie was good even though I am a bit disappointed with her attitude. Arizona was great as always. Meredith too even if we had seen her only for à few minutes.
I liked Cristina's calm and professionalism (except

BTW, it was marvelous story telling the way the situation was depicted hind sight, and from different points of view. A refreshing change.

Wow, I'm so smart (barf). I managed to notice that April didn't check the patient's throat. Maybe they should hire ME lol. Seriously, there was a lot of distraction going on, and moreover, a lot of competition. Like everybody was looking for more interesting patients, and disregard their suffering. I love Lexie she has feelings and maintains her human side by always talking with the patients. I feel sorry for Alex, but I was annoyed with him constantly being on the phone. It was somehow good for us to see Charles fail (and fall), if not for the dramatic consequence. I'm glad the firefighter made it, I don't know how they do their job. I'm happy with how Christina defended the situation, and how Derk put the Chief in his place. So far my opinion.. good luck all waiting for next week. I hope the competition will fade away and they all learn how to work together for the good of the patients.

Perhaps it's just because the last episodes sucked that much, but I liked this one. I liked the action, and introducing each doctor. But after reading what mari said I started realizing that it wasn't a great episode, it was a nice one. Because all the things she listed are the points that I tried to block out. It was a show but without a realistic aspect.
Also I do not think Grey's Anatomy went away from love stories to more medical stuff. Because both is missing. I watched older episodes again and there they had these kind of cases where I just sat there and though "oh... my... god" and not just that they were amazing, they also declared them. And the patients are like some patients not like the woman who gets a heart attack every year the same day caused by grief or that's the guy who's gonna get his daughters heart.
I think this episode was better than the one before, it's far better. And I enjoyed it although there were all of these mistakes. I liked this one as a particular on

I really enjoyed the episode, mostly because it was a change of pace, especially under the conditions (EP was already 9 months pregnant at the time and KH's leave). It was really really well made.

    And I LOVED the music.

Yeah, Sloan shouldn't have shaved. He looked weird.

  19. smoker

    sorry for my english

I agree with mari, sloan is a lot better with the short beard

I don't like some things in the chapter, all of you have said already I'm not going to repeat but as Pamela says "it was fast-paced and kept me interested", it was diferent and I really enjoy watching it

that's not mean I want to watch one chapter of this kind every week

and I love arizona-lexie and arizona-sloan (working of course),and I said this in other comment, sorry for the repeat, but I love sloan working with his coworkers

season 6 overall is a major letdown! the plot doesn't seem to make sense anymore. it's no longer the usual grey's anatomy that i seem to pursue every week...

  21. Pamela

I loved this episode, it was fast-paced and kept me interested. They are setting up the new characters personalities little by little by showing us them in these situations, as opposed to the soap-operaish ways in the first few seasons. Keep in mind, the hospital is the only place the newbies will interact with the seattle gracers, and the interaction will continue to evolve and it was really good! i was pleasantly surprised after being let down for the last 2 seasons.

  22. SCGreysFan

Literally, one of the worse Grey's episodes ever! I stopped watching and then watched it via FF on my DVR. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

  23. Tray

Episode was good, but I missed the connections with the orginal cast members. The new cast members are throwing off the chemistry that I love about Grey's. I did enjoy the scene with the Cheif and Derek at the end.

  24. haley31

I really enojoyed the episode, it was refreshing to see grey's take on such a different way of telling a story. Shonda said this season was pivotal in making sure grey's anatomy could continue for many years and in doing so, many new characters would be introduced. We all have our favorite characters, but it's unrealistic to center the entire show around a few actors/actresses that may not always be a part of the cast. As for the new mercy-westers, there are 4 new docrots (3 now) how confusing can it be? the 6th season has been much better than the 5th and i'm reassured that grey's will be on the air for a long time to come!

  25. Daedra

I loved the episode... I liked the medicine aspect of it, and the artistic way it was done. Very tense. Awesome. ^.^
