As of right now, half way through Invasion, I don't really like this new storyline. I don't like Mercy West joining and I don't like my favorite people in danger of leaving. I can't tell though if it's just because it's new or if I genuinely don't like it, but if they get rid of too many major characters this season I don't think I'll keep watching.

Yet again my heart sank when I read the previous comment about Meredith getting fired. Laid off gives the option of being reemployed?
Why's Der looking so upset, has the chief cut the neurosurgery dept or the chief has told Der Mer's been laid off? That's a bit daft seeing as ground breaking surgeries are occuring with Derek. I know they often mislead in promos cos of the way it's edited
Also it looks as though Iz gives the chief a piece of her mind. The lady sat at the back might be the HR person, that is generally a big hint you are on your way out

If you watch the CTV promo, Meredith is in it. As a matter of fact, she's 'commanding' everyone to hold their grounds and Cristina gets to her bed and cry.
EP is going back to work this week, so she's in every episode.
Besides, Meredith wouldn't get cut for several personal reasons: Derek, the Chief, the clinical trial, etc.

Is not Meredith because EP is not missing any episode, is Izzie, because aside from being lay off which is different then getting fired, something happens between her and Alex, that makes her disappeared from awhile. At least that one of the spoiler said.

@ McSteamyDreamy babe, I like where you’re going with that. I have to admit it would be a shock for Meredith to be let go. And besides that she isn’t in any of the previews for next week it’s everyone else crying and upset. Never do they show Mer. Grey’s is always trying to get a rise out of their viewers and fans and as we all know their previews and spoilers are usually the opposite of what happens or misleading. Although, I still think it’s Izzie that gets the axe. Meredith is a great thought though.

laurajs, like 2% of greys fan actually look at spoilers, so to the 98% its going to be a big shock when cancer surviving/bestfriend dying stricken izzie gets fired from her job.

I keep thinking Izzie's going to be fired just because she's the one who's leaving for 5 episodes but everyone (cast, spoilers, insiders, ect.) keep reiterating how shocking and surprising it's going to be. To me Izzie being fired or let go isn't a shock so I wonder why it'll be a shock and I wonder he it'll be if not Izzie. HMMMM...until Thursday :)

Poor Izzie...has cancer, almost dies from cancer, her best friend and "person" dies as she is almost dying, and now she gets fired...can't catch a break
