If he dies Meredith's not gonna deal with the guilt, and she's soon gonna turn into the old dark and twisty girl that runs away from everything. God, I don't want this to happen. And I don't want Lexie to suffer this much. So yeah, even if she doesn't owe him anything, even if he's a jerk just for asking, she should say yes. Btw, are you sure it's a kidney? I've heard it was the liver.

i think she'll do it. It looks like it was the writers intention, building up the plot before Ellen Pompeo have to leave the show for her maternity leave. Kudos to the writers for creating a great reason for her absence!

It's a liver not a kidney, right? I think she'll bank a donation because even though he was a louse a part of her secretly loves him just not out loud. And she'll do it because she's a doctor for one reason...to save lives. She'll do it cause she's the person that brings home strays.

No she souldnt even want to help him after everything he put her through, but its Mer, she wont want to feel guilty so i think she will do it to show shes can be the "bigger person"

She doesn't owe him anything, but she will probably do the transplant, because she's compassionate and will want to do it for Lexie. I think it's most likely a liver transplant, in which case she'd have to give a small piece of her liver to him, and then hers would regenerate, right? Like with that boy who was in the hospital with his parents after his father's road rage caused an accident, and he gave up part of his liver. Though who knows how healthy Meredith's liver would be, given all the tequila...

Thatcher Grey receives absolute zero compassion from me. I think that what he did is unforgivable, especially the fact that he doesn't seem to feel the need to seek a relationship with her estranged daughter.
Meredith doesn't owe him anything and if she does it, she should do it for herself and not to save his life or to please Lexie. Lexie has absolutely no right to beg Meredith for it, especially by being selfish enough to remember that she had all that Meredith lacked.
The only reason that I'm looking forward to this storyline is because I want to see how she involves Derek in it and just to see her rise up and be better than him. Also because I want to see Mark's stand on this. His parents never cared for him, I wonder how he'll support this.
As angry as this makes me, I can't wait to see the episode, LOL.

I'm not thatcher's biggest fan, but if mer can show some compassion to a serial killer and be there for him when he is executed then maybe she can do this for thatcher. he (as far as we know) hasn't killed anyone.

I AGREE WITH "MerDer4EveR" . Derek is always right. & Meredith will do it for Lexie & Only her. She doesnt deserve to be put through tht much Guilt if he dies. But, he doesnt deserve her help. But, Lexie Does.

Hi guys! I think meredith should give the liver to her father..and i explain..although Derek is right when he say that mer didn't owe him anything..and he actually don't deserve the liver..i think she should do it..she's a much better person than him..so if she do it..she wins! She's a bigger person..and he continues to be the crapy father ;)

B. Because if Mer saves Lexie's Father it will cancel out the fact that (while not directly causing it) Mer was a preponent in recomending the surgury that Susan (Lexie's mom)died from.
C. Thirdly UNOS can not provide a liver because Thatcher has not been sober for a year, as he sayes in the promo. Plus isn't Meridith AB+or- witch is like less than 8% of the population.
D. Lexie is the one that asks Mer for the liver not Thatch
E. I bet Izzie will have some sceen about donating her marrow (even if it is totaly not the same thing.

Meredith's father should be ashamed to ask. Donating a kidney as a young woman whom has never had children could make pregnancy difficult and dangerous. Also, if Thatcher's condition is genetic, she may need that extra kidney--it could cost her her life.

I voted no. She doesn't owe Thatcher anything like Derek said!! And Thatcher deserve nothing from her after what he put her through, he should be the one that refused her organ, he shouldn't put her through that for him that was no good for except for screwing her over and over!! He wasn't her father..just a sperm donar!! And she owes Lexie NOTHING!!!!
But I guess she will do it anyway!! We will see what Shonda has prepered for us huh!!

She will probably do it. Then she will need a few episodes to recover.....that will be a great time for her to depart a little from the show to have mommy time with the new baby.

This is a ridiculous poll give away your liver to make someone else feel good, R U MAD!!!!! she shuld only do it if its for herself (Meredith owes lexie nothing). i like lexie but mer let her live in her house! and asked derek to keep mark away from her for her own good so no not for lexie for her.

I think Mer shouldn't give her liver to Tatcher, for all the things that he did to her. She doesn't owe him nothing. But Mer is going to do the transplant, for Lexie and not to deal with guilt if he dies. Altough they can also call UNOS but it's really dificult to find a match.

I don't want Mer to have to help him, but I don't know if she will be able to deal with the guilt if he dies. Not to mention breaking Lexie's heart. But Derek is right, she doesn't owe him anything.
