No it sounds like fucked up people in general and it fucked up that you think blackmail only happens in the upper classes. people do it through it all types of way and in every class like using children for money.

Blair was punished for screwing with Serena during the Yale fight (and that was for revenge). Vanessa wasn't punished for the blackmail thing she was actually painted as the victim and the hero in that ep.

Vanessa came in at a time when fans were rooting for Derena and Chair. She messed them up. That's a lot of fans to cross. Haha.
Then in Season 2, V messed with Nate and Jenny AND by some "evil" twist of the writers' pens, managed to stop Chuck from telling Blair ILY on the gallery's rooftop. MAJOR no-no !! Haha.
Ordinarily, in real-life, we would be friends with someone like V. And loathe someone like B. But throughout the course of GG, we've gotten to know Blair and what drives her to act the way she does. We understand, we emphatise and we root for her. She has become our heroine. So if B is our heroine, then V or anyone who crosses B is automatically the villain. Remember how we wanted to smack Rachel Carr?? I know I did. Hehe.
The only way I can like V is for Blair to like her too. And for V to stay away from Chuck. Hahaha. I know it's crazy to be protective of tv characters, but C and B have won my loyalties. Kudoes to Ed's and Leighton's acting talents.

I'm a Blair fan. And a Serena fan. And a Jenny fan btw. I also like Dan and Chuck (although I liked him more season 1) and actually Nate at times too. I don't see a huge amount of bashing on these boards on the characters, and it's a very few people who drag Ed/Jess into their arguments on Vanessa.
I'd be pissed if someone blackmailed me too. So would almost anyone. It doesn't require being a 'bitch' to do it.

Also, I don't know who are you talking about, but pretty much all the comments against V that I've read are not because of EdJess relationship. They are maybe some of that, sure, there's also some people that doesn't like PennBlake together, or there's also some stupid B fans that hate everyone else but her (same with S fans, actually), but that doesn't change anything. There will be always stupid people, sure, welcome to the world, but that doesn't change the fact that the bigger part of the people hates the character because of the character itself, not because of the actress or her relationships.

The girl that says she HATES UES and everything that revolves around it? She just goes and does the thing that she most judge and hate about UES people? It doesn't sound like "not a big deal" to me. The thing is that she was already between DS and NJ before, so it doesn't change anything.
Again how the fuck was she between these two either. Dan and Serena were solid and she bowed out and helped her with Dan's deflowering.
Nenny (that is annoying ship name doesn't that mean silly or stupid) is a dumb couple so I don't give a shit. Rape anyone? I always saw it as Jenny getting in eNVy's way. they were couple for like 2 seconds get the fuck over it.

Also, I don't know who are you talking about, but pretty much all the comments against V that I've read are not because of EdJess relationship. They are maybe some of that, sure, there's also some people that doesn't like PennBlake together, or there's also some stupid B fans that hate everyone else but her (same with S fans, actually), but that doesn't change anything. There will be always stupid people, sure, welcome to the world, but that doesn't change the fact that the bigger part of the people hates the character because of the character itself, not because of the actress or her relationships.
U need to read more threads then because I have seen it alot and i know went to ed's fan website and people started saying nasty stuff about her and the moderator told them to stop.
