when did leighton meester said that blair is a good girl ???
she said this when the show first aired. she said virtually B is a good girl despite the mean things she does. It is also imply on the show Balir thinks she is good too especially that one line at the end of season 1. He brings out the bad in me whereas I bring out the good in him when referencing to her and chuck.
yea i am pretty sure most of her grades were fixed as pretty much all the kids grades are fixed. Everyone wondering how Vanessa got into NYU but how hell did Nate get into Colombia or Serena to Brown. The only person from Constance that work for his place in college was Dan.

Blair is a brainless bitch no matter how her fans try to disguised,she will sell her boyfriend to a man just to win a speech just because she wants to be popular and she doesn't have the charm to do it,if the NYU guy was straight she would sell herself so all this plot makes her not just brainless,snob and full of her self also now she is a slut.
oh wait she was a slut since last season premiers because she was selling herself to Marcus because she wanted to be Lady Blair

@manebella:
but there are characters that are FUN to hate, and some that you just wish would go away. Characters like Jack Bass and the Mean Girls can be FUN to hate, because they do such terrible things but they are good actors with clever writing, so it is fun to watch.
Vanessa? She should just go away.

I would not mind Vanessa as a bland plot-filler if she was just boring. (kind of how I feel about Rufus & Lily. They are just kind of...there, but I put up with them so they can move the show along.)
However, Vanessa has:
1) bad styling (Straight hair was an improvement, but the clothes still make my eyes hurt. ugly prints, tacky jewelry, unflattering cuts of clothing...yuck.)
2) bad acting (She is trying to act strong and independent, but she comes off as shrewish, self-righteous, and obnoxious no matter what she says. In contrast, Blair and Georgina are strong and independent, but they are still appealing and irresistible.)
3) bad writing (hypocritical, cliche)
These 3 elements take my opinion about Vanessa from neutral to negative. The show would IMPROVE if she left.

i hate vanessa and i think thats a great thing... if a character is hated so much by the fans of a show the actor and the writers must be doing something right... a non-important caracter doesn't cause as much hate as vanessa does(i don't know if anybody understand what i'm trying to say...but if you do... cool) now.... why i hate her?... well it has nothing to do with blair or chuck (big fan) or anybody.... is just her... she is such an hypocritical person and a big sellout... i hopes she dies in a funny way... :)

the whole idea that Blair didn't get in to Yale made me furious. No way that someone at the top of her class and involved in so many extra curriculars would get rejected for "hazing a teacher." PLEASE. Her father was a legacy, for God's sake! They writers just needed a way to keep her in the city. And about Yale so desperately wanting Serena to attend? Double PLEASE. They're a top ranked ivy league school, not a trendy nightclub. Why would they want an underachieving party girl socialite like Serena? She would at least bring down the freshman classes' GPA, SAT scores etc....and it is alllll about numbers for those people. I get that it was supposed to show that everything is so easy for Serena and cause a conflict between Blair and Serena, but the whole thing was ridiculous. And I know it happened in the books, but it was no less ridiculous there, either. Does anyone writing these things know about applying to college? In fact, what happened in the books was even MORE ridiculous. sheee

When Blair is talking to Miss Carr, she doesn't say that teachers have always 'fixed' her grades; she says that "second semester seniors get a free pass . . . Constance wants us to get into the best colleges." I graduated last year, and the last half of senior year flies by. No, I didn't get a "free pass," but it definitely is easier than before. Just to clear that one up:]
And in season one [when they are juniors], the dean tells Blair that she is at the top of the class [in 'School Lies].
I don't understand how some of you are saying "Blair wasn't that academic; her stepfather got her into NYU." Well, yes he got her in, but that is ONLY because it was WAY too late to apply; she ONLY applied to Yale, and when she didn't get in, she had no other options. Also, she ultimately got rejected from Yale for mistreating a teacher [Miss Carr]. I have no idea where all this talk of Blair not being in the top of class came from; I always had the impression she was a straigh

the thing with blair and her grades, is normal, it happen at my school. the teachers didn´t fix her grades always, just that in your last year with the pressure of university and all, theachers are more flexible and understanding. like in my school we had this BIG german test, thats really! huge, cause its the embassy of germany that gives you the grade, so teachers were more understanding when we failed at something else, because the pressaure we had (sorry for anything bad writing, i speak spanish, and german (i pass the test) but in english i make mistakes

Vanessa help Jenny to find a way to keep her education out of Contance by helping her with her homeschooling things.Also is clear she has intellectual curiosity as much as Dan the fact that she was homeschooling reflect her academic interest she could drop out school and work and party but she choose to educate herself instead when she didn't have to.
about Blair she is doing it again she wants to win something academic wise by scheming not by working hard,maybe she is smart but she doesn't seem to believe it and I don't believe it a smart person don't make the same mistake again and again without learn anything.

@Cherryl,
Blair told the teacher something like this:
all the teachers fixed my grades,you have to fix this¡
I will have to rewatch the episode because I'm pretty sure that's not how it happened. It was implied that was the ONLY time. She sabotaged Nelly Yuki, yes, because Nelly Yuki was her MAIN COMPETITION for Yale because both girls had very high grades and scores. I'm not saying that the Nelly Yuki thing was right because it wasn't (and Blair was eventually punished for it), but it only makes sense that sabotaging one girl (by having her party late) would make sense if you were at the top anyways. Blair Waldorf was "Constance's shining star" remember Queller saying? The Serena thing was about her fighting with Serena. Serena has never been painted as academic competition for Blair, just as Blair has never been painted as the 'girl with the unbelievable charisma' like Serena has. The Yale storyline was massive fail, but Blair didn't get in due there or anywhere else due to *bul

Watch me be completely wrong, but this is what I am going with for now. Can't wait for the episode! I think this is going to be the best one of the season! So many twists and so much suspense! Uh, they fixed her grades? I don't remember them ever fixing her grade in that episode. She still ended up with a B yes? And there was direct evidence in that ep that they hadn't fixed her grades before. I don't understand what you're getting at there. And a B isn't like a D at a public school, at all. The curve is set the same place, and at least at my private school, the increased competition led to harder comparative grading. People could leave and get higher grades at a public school, but it evened out because colleges look at the school you're coming from.
