Ok drama for MerDer, but no split ups plz. As a storyline the MerDer breakups have been an overused plotline. The MerDer marriage seems strong. I wonder if MerDer's marriage will be used as a compare and contrast with Alex and Iz's marriage

By the end of episode 10 GA time will have meant that MerDer will have been married for around 6 months. We have had lots of very happily married MerDer, long may that continue, but I know they need a storyline cos they are the core GA couple.
I am kinda dreading Der getting all shouty, and he's bound to get shouty at Mer. I hope we see MerDer dealing with professional differences without upsetting their marriage. I guess Mer anticipated them disagreeing when she suggested the'love me even when you hate me' vow. Der's mom was correct that MerDer do see things differently.
In the Hollidaze episode pictures, the chief was part of the Christmas celebration at Mer's house, wasn't he? I kinda think Mer attempts to reconcile Der and the chief and it doesn't work. hope I'm wrong, cos it will be the season of goodwill to all mankind

What does drama mean?I think that the drama maybe she loose many time when she loose her piece of liver.
Her obstacle are 25 new-docs as she said in the 6x09.
An other obstacle maybe if Derek becomes the Chief of the surgery or if Meredith didn't choice neuro-surgery.
The final obstacle maybe if to have children now or to wait after the intern-time.
After all this i wait all by Shonda'mind because i think else by her.The happyness is drama for Shonda because she thinks that if you are happy so you are bored...

I am loving that they are together forever as the producer says and a little drama now and then is great it is what makes drama a drama really. I really enjoy what they come up with, with all the the charaters...

There is no such thing as an obstacle-free relationship. I love MerDer, but I don't think I'd like them if they had a perfect, boring relationship. One of the best things about Grey's is that the characters are messed up and unperfect, just like real people. It's great finally being able to relate to the characters on a show!

I certainly favor an idea of "Meredith and Derek forever together".But meanwhile I don't mind about some not big obstacles in their relations.Because "happily ever after" is not so interesting.Reality is so much better!!
I think that it could be problems about their patients or peoples coming from their past.It could be anything,but in any way I shall watch Grey's!

The screen time that merder have been getting hasnt been enough.whenever they come together, i get goosebumps cus they are so meant to be...:P i want them to have babies!!!!.....the only thing is they can have some drama between them but they have 2 stay together.......xxxxx

MerDer my fav couple, and should be center stage for GA. With 12 core characters and 4 reoccuring regulars I feel MerDer have been, understandably, in the background.
But in the rough times, please can we still have hot MerDer, and know Der will still greet Mer and leave Mer with a kiss, please.
I hope the writers give Mer some surgery time. She hasn't gowned up for surgery since her solo surgery in the 100th episode, and next week she doesn't appear to do any surgery again

I knew that if there were to be an increase in MerDer scenes there would have to be a conflict between them. I know we were being spoilt with their marriage being so happy, but that was due to there being so few MerDer scenes. Episode 9 there were 2 scenes, one in which Der was very McDreamy with his wife.
If the chief has a huge wobble, I can imagine him stepping back and relying on Der more/ or Der takes over as acting chief etc. In episode 10 the episode descripton says Mer defends the chief to her dad, so maybe she will side with the chief in the future.
If the chief is Der, I wonder if Mer will end up struggling even more to get any surgery time. I just hope that we get to seeing MAC start their 4th year very soon, cos I'm still unsure what surgical career Mer will want to choose.
I suppose there's a small crumb of comfort in the fact MerDer aren't going to break up, and they have survived conflict before

I agree with everything you said inlovewithPatrickDempsey. Shonda on twitter said that there are going to be some Meredith interesting storylines, I hope that's true:). She is the main character and Mer/Der are the main couple. So they DESERVE the main storylines and the most screen time!!!

clarkson_fan, i couldn't agree with you more. Even in season 4, the show has moved on form MerDer, and there storyline isn't front and centre! They have only had breif moments in each episode in this season. Sure, they have been great moments, but Grey's Anatomy isn't Grey's anatomy without them. Drama or no Drama, the show isn't getting enough MerDer. I know Shonda and the Grey's Crew is trying to open it up to let some other characters have the limelight, but MerDer have been the centre of Grey's ever since episode one where you are hoping that they get together, because their one night stand story is so funny, all the way till now, with their post-it above their bed, and their 5 seconds of heaven while practicing on dummies.
I really hope that we get any sort of MerDer action. Because they are perfect for eachother, and i know that they will not break up, so i'm fine with them having some drama, because honestly, who doesn't? i rell think they deserve the screen time, because we'v

SmilinSloan, are you kidding me? MerDer have been in the back light since like...the beginning of season 5! We've only got some good scenes here and there and then there are little short scenes of cuteness...but then...that's it? No, i am happy about this. MerDer totally deserve some time! They are, after all, the main couple of the show, they are married (Meredith is the main character, i have to say) and damn it, i want me so MerDer. Lol

i agree. though its nice to know merder will stay merder. there are still so much drama to be explored besides them falling apart. besides, someone has to set an example of an ideal married couple for other GA characters lol (alex and lizzie, just talk it out!)
