Oh come on people! CAN´T YOU UNDERSTAND THAT BURKE WILL NEVER COME BACK? Just let it go. That was greys anatomy in the past. The first three seasons. Now it´s season 6 and Owen Cristina are one of the most popular couples. They won´t bring Burke back.Just like they won´t bring Addison back . Grey´s would be critizized too much. Those stories have been told. If your favourite character has left and you hate the show so much why do you still watch?
I LOVE OWEN AND CRISTINA. They are the most complicated and interesting characters. And that kiss was HOT. They look like a real couple, unlike all the other couples.

I always read each and everyone's comments here and I must admit it really makes sense. Since I just started watching GA season 5 I am into GA because of Owen and Cristina. Burke and Cristina is very interesting as Ive seen some of their clips in you tube. But I could not imagine now Cristina without Owen. I must admit that I will not watch GA again if ever they fall out. No matter how much I love Lexi and Sloan and Mer and DEr, I couldnt see myself watching GA without Cristina and Owen. About the comments regarding Owen having this beet red face I think that is his real emotions getting the better side of him. Kevin is a great actor and his emotions couldnt help the fact he turns red. He is brazen tough and manly and that he is made for that role. Its what his role ask for. I think he really is so inlove with Cristina. Cristina on the other hand loves him the way he is. Its what drew her to him. Kevin did a great job portraying this broken, complicated, passionate, confuse, challengin

This comment is especially for SHONDA..
I still don't like the mercy west crew at all! Actually I hate them! You only see them in 2 shots of an episode so why not get rid of them. That would be one problem solved!!
And about Burke, I don't understand why people would still make a big deal out of it when he comes back to GA. Burke and Christina were an excellent couple and Burke was punished so give the man a break and let him back on GA!! He deserves a second chance.
I advice SHONDA to take a look at these comments of everyone and at least give people a little bit of what they want. Everyone knows that you can better keep the fans happy, even when it's just on some points instead of pissing them of with too many changes. First the mercy west crew then the so called 'new' story between Owen, Christina and Teddy.
DEAR SHONDA, READ THE COMMENTS AND MAYBE YOU CAN STILL SAVE GREY'S ANATOMY!!
PS. I loved the episode Holidaze because you did not see that much of the mercy west

I really didn't like I saw what I saw or whatever. LOL!!! But the 2 eppy's with Derrick and AZ as the focal point where just great. Expectly the one with Derrick. I loved the way all the doctors got behind him and helped him. That is what makes a great show. They was all interested in what he was doing and worried about how he was going to do it. Our last show of the year wasn't very good. But it wasn't because of our doctors. They have to do what is on the page. I really don't understand the thing with everyone loving Hunt that man is such a waste of time that could be used for the other Docs. His acting is awful everytime he is with Cris I feel like he is getting ready to rape her. There interactions never feel loving. He is twisted. For god sake turn down the volume on him acting like a deranged serial raper. Or better yet let him go back to iraq.

Ace,
Exactly. A lot of people were referring to Teddy as the new Rose but she has the Addison factor to it, you root for her because she's an actual genuine person that isn't evil or has mean intentions, just wrong timing by showing up.
I really hope she stays too. I could end up liking her a lot like I ended up liking Addison.
ana,
It's sort of implied that Meredith is a changed person now (hence the happy, married comments). That being said, remember Derek is a holiday buff. This dinner may have been his idea and Mer went along with him, as wives do sometimes. KV tweeted about an edited scene where Derek and Meredith are having the cooking conversation and Mer's all freaked out. Maybe it'll be on DVD.
Alex's disappearance was cleared in the Writer's Blog. It said that Alex, knowing that Izzie was the holiday fanatic, may not feel up to celebrating the holidays this time. Who can blame him?
Don't say anything about the Mercy Westers! At least they weren't there!
I have to admit, I didn't love this episode as much as I thought I would; granted, I still found it good, however, I felt it was rushed. Can you blame me? I have "Thanks for the Memories", "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer", and "Begin the Begin" as precedents for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's episodes. It got the focus of the holiday, and to tell you the truth, I may be spoiled on the Meredith VO, but, she had a specific holiday-tailored VO for each episode, and this one was well.. for a "Thanksmas's Year" episode, the VO was Christmas-centered.
Even in "Good Mourning" and "Goodbye", it took two episodes to reflect 30 days, which I could buy, which I did buy, however, one episode to span 36 days? I feel it was condensed and some of the progress of the episodes were abridged to fit in the time. Despite being a good episode, it was a little too much for me in the alotted period.
anuflas,
I could not agree with you more. I mentioned it on the ABC.com boards that I ho

I'm done with this show. I can't follow anymore.
At first we had 9 characters(fab5,Derek,Burke,Bailey,chief), and now we have 20-30 characters and i can't focus.
Can't they get rid of all this boring characters(Mark,Lexie,Callie,Arizona,Owen, mercywesters), and bring back George (i don't know how), Burke and maybe Addison????
I want the real Grey's Anatomy back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think this episode is just a symptom of what has been this season. For some reason, the latest episodes do not follow a coherent story line. Each of them is a story in itself but they don't really glue together. In previous seasons, of course we had different medical cases which made each episode different but we were able to follow the lives of our loved characters. Now it is as if we have pieces of their lives but cannot follow the thread.
This seemed to be a minor issue in previous episodes this season because we had very intense and awasome episodes (like I saw what I saw) but Holidaze was clearly a "not-up-to-the-level" story and therefore all the pitfalls of this season became more evident.
Since when does Meredith like holidays and invites everyone for dinner at her place? if you recall, that was Izzie's job. It seemed so out-of-place for the Mer we knew from previous seasons. and why was Alex not in the dinner? and where were the Mercy wests in this episode? have they all

I have went to abc.com and watched the eppy for a second time and I didn't like it as much as I have alot of the newer eppy's. I was way disapointed the way Bailey and Her fathers argument was done during Callies/Sara's singing. That song should have been played during the time the heart girl was outside of the hospital in the snow. That was a calm and peaceful time and the right time for the song. And no one should have been saying a word. Just let the song play. Well anyway until the girl fell it was peaceful.

i dont like alex being left out of the scene. i thought that since izzie was not in the show (i hope she'd be back bright and shiny. she's becoming twisted like mer's character in the beginning), mer and cristina will be somehow checking out on how he's doing (like what they have on the previous seasons). i would hate to think that alex wont be in the picture if izzie was not there.

That's one way of looking into it. At first, I think it was cruel but after a while, I think he did say that to convince himself and to not do any further advances. That was great kayp!:)
Why would he reveal those feelings? For what? I am psyched to know what's going to happen next.

I pretty much agree with everybody else, it felt way too rushed, would have been much better as 3 different episodes. It did feel a lot like the season premiere which I also wasn't that crazy about. It seems like when the writers are under a lot of pressure to make an episode super good than it's not that great. Like with the premiere, they had to follow up that crazy season finale and now they had to give us a really good episode before the 2 month break. Anyway, hopefully the episode on the 14th will be good, can't wait for Addie to come back!

I have loved Callie since day 1. but she wasn't even in half of this episode. I know the writers love Arizona. But it seems like every week she gets to do this great surgery and we never get to see her and Callie together or Callie doing anything. Sara needs to be seen more, especially with Arizona and with the other Doctors. She should be able to do an awesome surgery herself. The only good things about this episode were Callie and Arizona kiss, and Sara's AMAZING voice. Lesbian couples can be happy which I am glad Callie and Arizona are. I don't want to have them be in conflict to see them together.

I found the holiday episode of Grey's Anatomy scattered and confusing last night. It felt like they were rushing to put an episode together and pasted a bunch of shows together. The show was jumpy and didnt follow a reasonable time-line. Marks daughter just shows up and then it is 3 months later and Lexie is telling him that he needs to talk to his daughter. I have found this whole season very dark and depressing with very little interesting plot. Just alot of characters changing and old characters being killed off or fired and remaining characters changing personalities.

I thought this episode was a huge disappointment. It was way too much to fit in one episode, it didn't flow at all, and it left out the most interesting storylines.
I thought the thing with Mark's daughter was very poorly done. It just made no sense. She stays with you for 6 weeks before you speak to her? It was just dumb. The stuff with Bailey was interesting, but it was a little over the top. And what is up with all the parents on this show? The Dads show up and they mothers have nothing to do with anything. Same thing happened with Callie. I would think when Bailey's Mom found out she got a divorce, maybe she would have picked up a phone or come herself?? And Callie's speech to Bailey's dad didn't fit at all.
I think I might be the only one, but I can not stand Owen. I think he is the most annoying character on the show, and can't stand his overdone intensity. The guy orders lunch and his face turns red and he clenches his teeth. He drives me crazy! I like seeing Christina in a so

My point with what I just said was I don't think Owen was trying to be cruel to Teddy with what he said I think he was trying to stop himself from going any further with Teddy. He yanked her into that room and confronted her but she wasn't doing anything provocative to make him notice her. He's struggling with his feelings and he's angry to learn NOW that he has a relationship with Cristina that Teddy loved him. He has some seroius soul-searching to do. He's going to have to figure out which woman he wants. Should be good!
I agree that the Mark/Sloan Riley story last night was treated too lightly. Not believable that they could live together for a couple of months and not talk. It will be good to see where this is going...

well, I agree with everyone else that the episode should have been two hours, GA staff please take note.
O/C and Teddy were definitely the most interesting SL. Am I the only one who thought that Owen's " I love Cristina" at the end of that confrontation with Teddy may have been partly to convince/remind himself that he is with Cristina? I was on the edge of my seat too, I thought they were going to kiss! My mind was screaming NO NO!
Obviously Owen still has feelings for Teddy. It kind of sucks because they had a great romance last season, this kind of changes my perception of that. If Cristina isn't careful she's going to lose her man. Wonderful, wonderful acting by all of them.
The storylines were ok, but what I really didn't like was the pace of the episode. In the first 2 episodes the pace didn't hinder it too much as it covered 2 episodes (not that I cared much about the pace there either!)However, it really was awful as we covered a month and a half in 40mins. I was afraid to blink, because I might miss easter the way the pace of the episode was going.
The only good thing about it was the regular cast. The best scene was Mer, Cristina and Alex sharing what they are not thankful for, excellent!
I've also thought of a way to get rid of that cheerleader from Mercy West, the one who tried it on with Cristina. How about him falling into an empty elevator shaft (like Joey from friends departure in `The days of our lives`) If I think of other ways to get rid of the other 2 cheerleaders from Mercy West, I will post it, or if anyone else has any good ideas on how to purge Grey's of the 3 Mercy West Cheerleaders, I will be very happy to read about it.

I agree with most everyone...I was very disappointed. My expectations were much higher for this "3 holidays in one" episode. I too feel that the Christmas dinner scene at the table, could have been a wonderful, amazing scene....they really didn't take advantage of that opportunity. Wow! It could have been great!
I also think the whole Mark having a daughter thing was strange. I think that they should have made his daughter a more "put together" character....not so immature, whiny, etc. When he hugs her at the end, there isn't much emotion there...I don't know, that whole storyline is just a bit odd. Everything was judt "off."

I enjoyed the episode, though it was weird having 3 holidays in one episode and Callie/Arizona only pending one of those together (on screen anyway). I really enjoyed the dinner scene with Sara singing in the background...made me tear up, good thing I taped it because I was too busy listening to her sing to listen to Bailey. The part where Lexie cut off her pinki was gross, but I saw it coming. I enjoyed the chief and arizona singing, it was cute and I love that song. Oh and awesome job with AZ/Der/Mark making tools to operate with and donating money to do it out of their own pocket.

I Agree!!! I listened to the song over and over!! I was sure it was Sara Ramirez singing "Silent Night" but I couln't confirm it anywhere. Give her credit!!! Wow!

I think the Silent Night from Sara Ramirez was the best part of the show!!! amazing
