Bailey doesn't look 50. Maybe pushing 40 but not 50.
If they are doing flashbacks to 2003, then it'd be reasonable for Intern Bailey but 2006 she already was a resident.
My theory is that the Chief started to drink while reading the diaries. Maybe he gets into some sort of accident because of being drunk and while he's being treated he gets the flashbacks?

I have no idea how old Bailey is. Yeah she must have been married to Tucker before she started training as a doc.
If the plot is mainly stemming from the chief, he must be reading Ellis's diaries? Or maybe another heart to heart between the chief and Mer? The chief must be so so gulity about Mer. Shame Thatch doesn't appear to have the same feelings

There would appear the plan is for three time zones; the present, Mer as a four year old, and Bailey as a resident. So is there going to be any time for the present day? I hope there is no time for any MW docs, time they were just background before they leave.

I heard they're also doing flashbacks from 2003 and 2006, which explains Bailey.

But remember in season 2 Bailey had been married for 10 years to Tucker so maybe she didn't start out as a surgeon right away. She does look older than most other 5th year residents (Callie???) so maybe she just had a later start in the medical field!

bailey is only in her sixth year as a surgeon, remember she was chief resident during seasons 4 and 5, which is only slotted for fifth year residents. and when the original five came in as interns that was bailey's 4th year back in 2005 when the show began. though it has only been like 3 and a half years for grey's anatomy time over the nearly past five years, having a flashback to bailey's year as an intern would put us around 2000, give or take a few years.

I'm getting REALLY excited to see this episode. It'll explain A LOT and I can't wait to see it. I think we'll learn where Richard began to fall off the wagon. Excited!

The slides show that the flashback takes place in 1982, so if it'll air in 2010, they are flashing 28 years. Bailey should be like 10 or so. Maybe they'll have different flashbacks like in 301? Oh, I hope that they also consider a Derek/Mark flashback.

That would be interesting.... but wouldn't the show be flashing back like, 20 years?
I'm pretty sure Bailey isn't that old =/
