Last night's American Idol auditions in Dallas featured 31 contestants that received tickets to Hollywood; a couple of incredible backstories (one girl was a cancer survivor, another guy suffered from Tourette's Syndrome); and the most useless guest judge yet.

Fortunately, Neil Patrick Harris also appeared on the panel and offered hilarious commentary such as: “If I can make to to three dozen people cry, I’ll feel like I’ve done my job.”
