Grey's Anatomy Promo: "State of Love and Trust"

by at . Comments

ABC aired the first promo for next week's episode of Grey's Anatomy, "State of Love and Trust," last night. Derek is taking over for Richard as Chief of Surgery for now.

And it's an episode ... that we will never forget.

Over-dramatic promo voiceover aside, it does look like an exciting episode with a lot going on in the land of Seattle Grace-Mercy West. Is McDreamy up to his new job?

Our photo gallery from the episode provided some insight into what we can expect, and we hope to have some longer sneak preview clips up for you in the next few days.

For now, check out the promo and see what you think ...

I love Richard so I really want him to come back. It seems like Derek is just walking around in Daddy's shoes right now.

I had missed a few episodes before finally tuning in to this episode and it was intense. I’m wondering how much longer Katherine Heigl is going to stick around, as she’s not even necessary to the show right now. I can’t wait to see how the difference is in how Derek’s role as chief is accepted compared to how Richard left his duties unfulfilled towards the end. The way the over exaggerated preview looks, it makes it seem like Derek in way over his head.

Seriouslyseriously

@McIntern: I totally agree with you that the patient waking up paves the way for Bailey's new anesthesiologist love interest to show up

smoker, I agree that Sam and Naomi could've been more supportive of Mark but I can't say that I'm happy that Maya got pregnant. She's a kid. At least Sloan Sloan is 18. But yeah, it's karma at it's best. I think that Mark is the odd one out. Sam was friends with Derek and Nai with Addie. I think in order to not exclude Mark out, Derek included him in his friends' group, just as Addie did with Archer (Derek hates him and Sam isn't that fond of him). I'm not fond of Nai but I like Sam. It looks like he tries but is jealous of Mark and his tight relationship with Addie.

I know this isn't the better place for this comment, but I'm so happy about naomi and sam's daughter is pregnant, they deserve a lot of pain for treat to mark like crap, they think they are wonderful people with no faults, they were supposed to be his friends. Sorry, I hate them more than my poor english let me show I don't watch pp normally, only if there are crossovers, but after that promo about the pregnancy I needed to know, and I'm so so happy, it's like bad karma on tv

I think there has been enough focus on Derek. Everything that happened with Jen and William, and now this.. There is almost no focus on Mer anymore.

i want a sneak peek :(

It'd be great, we know Bailey hates everybody at first and she could have this deep-seated distrust of anesthesiologists. =P

Grey's Anatomy Quotes

Did you say it? 'I love you. I don't ever want to live without you. You changed my life.' Did you say it? Make a plan. Set a goal. Work toward it, but every now and then, look around; Drink it in 'cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow."

Meredith (closing voiceover)

There's a reason I said I'd be happy alone. It wasn't 'cause I thought I'd be happy alone. It was because I thought if I loved someone and then it fell apart, I might not make it. It's easier to be alone, because what if you learn that you need love and you don't have it? What if you like it and lean on it? What if you shape your life around it and then it falls apart? Can you even survive that kind of pain? Losing love is like organ damage. It's like dying. The only difference is death ends. This? It could go on forever.
