Heroes WILL Return, Greg Grunberg Says

Good news: Heroes completed filming on its abysmal fourth season this week.

Bad news: Star Greg Grunberg says complete confidence that the show will return for a fifth season.

"[The season finale] is nowhere near a series finale,” he said at the People’s Choice Awards. “It is cliffhanger-y and exciting, but it is nowhere near an end to a series that people are so invested in. It does not tie everything up in a neat bow... I don’t have any doubt that the show will be back.”

Grunberg, of course, has no actual say in whether or not the series returns. Nor does anyone that runs Heroes.

Of course the show wouldn't air a series-concluding episode without word from NBC that it was giving Heroes the ax.

The actor is correct, however, when he cites strong DVD sales and international popularity as two reasons the drama might go on. He's also incredibly off-base when comparing Heroes to another, truly successful, iconic program:

Lost announced an end [date] and I think that helped both the people working on the show and the people watching it. They see the finish line and I think it gives them something tangible to invest in and be excited about. It’s like it’s a movie and they want to see the end of it. That’s what I hope happens with our show.”

In conclusion, based on the way NBC has bumbled the Jay Leno/Conan O'Brien situation - and based on the fact that it clearly has no idea how to run a contending network - anything is possible.

But even long-time fans and posters in our Heroes forum appear sick of this season and hesitant to trust Tim Kring to write a new one. Where do you stand?

Heroes goof or my misunderstanding...Claire heals and feels pain...Claire can't feel pain...Claire "dies" is resurrected and can feel pain...last episode; "It's nice to be able to feel pain" - Claire (from my memory). :-/

Ok look guys they do not have to end the show in order to fix it they just have to make some changes.
1) Give peter his powers back.
2) Make Hiro better and by better i mean no tumor, all of his powers, and let him be able to speak correctly.
3) Sylar needs to seriously cut someones head off.
4) Introduce a new bad ass villain while he is killing the carnival.
5a) Look i know we all liked the idea of the carnival. A big group of people with powers that could attack people and get revenge on the government i get that, but they seem more interested in moving rocks and making grass then fighting. And i dont care if the last episode has them attacking the government or whatever because one great episode will not make up for the rest of the season being filler.
5b) Have the new villain have the power of empathy and no not peter petrelli empathy i mean this guy could feel peoples emotions, feelings, etc. But more importantly he could make people feel whatever he wants like just for example he could come to the carnival and makes everyone their feel excruciating pain until they all died i mean wouldn't you watch that? And sylar could come and try and kill this guy, but he would make sylar feel so much pain sylar wouldn't be able to use his abilities other than healing which would keep him alive.
6) The villain could also make claire feel pain, but after he does claire stops whining and finally grows up and is grateful for not always being able to feel pain. That's right guys CLAIRE WOULD STOP WHINING!
7) Call the new volume extermination!

Agreed! ... whole-heartedly.

If Heroes Get re-new for a fifth Season I would be as happy as a kid in "Toys"R"Us" i just hope that the writers get their mind togehter and write better story lines and make the show the best.
