I am still mourning the loss of George! Grey's with Izzie and George was the best show on tv! I love Katherine Heigl and do not want to see her leave the show. Not liking the new Mercy West people. I still love the show and will never stop watching. But I have to say season 2,3 and 4 were the best!! Especially season 2!!

If you she goes Alex's character will be just like he was in the begging season's. Sleeping with everyone. Izzie was the first person he settled down with.. I think Izzie isn't going to leave and they will have Alex and Izzie go through alot more but still be able too pull through and make it.

The thing people forget about a maternity leave is that it is not a MOTHER's right, it is the BABY's right. So whether the baby is adopted or not has nothing to do with it.

LOL !! no im not TR Knight .. my friend knows her in person and he told me that she's a very nice person, very caring, and she DOES NOT INTEND to leave the show.. it's just that she says what she thinks .. she doesn't hide things, she's sincere and not an hypocrite and like sofilove123 said, if Shonda wants Heigl out, she would've killed Izzie off, it was very simple.

Ok this has been a debate since KH took her first leave! I don't want her to leave GA this season especially when SR had the chance to kill her off last season and did not take it. Every woman should have a right to take a maternity leave (biological or NOT) for a decent amount of time.This is a legit reason and I'm tired of people comparing EP and KH. As people were saying EP is the LEAD character and does almost all the voiceovers so it would be weird if she took off for a string of episodes. KH is NOT a lead character so it isn't as weird for people and not everyone likes her but that's beside the point.
I would be extremely upset if KH left the show after this season or next (which is more likely than this season since that's when her contract ACTUALLY ends).It wouldn't be the end of grey's for me it would just be upsetting. I haven't heard ABC or SR give any verbal say that KH wanted out it's just talk and her taking these leaves to further her movie career and spending time w

TV FANATIC what sources gave you the information about her leaving the show... she own the right to get a maternity leave, ellen pompeo had a maternity leave but she didn't miss any episode because she is the LEADING character.. and the one who said that KH complained that EP is getting more money than her, what are your sources?? please give me a link!! and all the people who r saying that the show is being fine without her ARE WRONG !! maybe u didn't miss her but a lot of people do miss her, including me .. and we'll know for sure if her leaving (if she's leaving, which has never been discussed with her, or ABC or any show insiders) would make the show suffer, in the ratings.. i'm sure the ratings will be very positive this week, and ABC and Shonda will know that Grey's Anatomy need KH

I think if she is given a gd story line i think she should still be on the show but otherwise i don;t tink it has suffered to much without her.

I happen to think she's an amazing actress and i really enjoy her on screen. Anybody remember season 2 finale when denny died? NOBODY else could pull off such a beautiful, real, convincing act of mourning a loved one. And what about in season 5 in the wedding episode when she was narrating? She really sounded and looked sick, i was almost convinced she was sick in real life too!
She may have a big mouth but she adds alot to grey's and i really do hope she stays!

people stop hating her ! :)she's good, but i might agree with in what concerns her leaving the show, i got used with her leaving, i miss George but not her, I like her in Grey's and I like her in her movies, and it is normal to see the same Izie in other movies like Ugly Truth because she had hundreds of minutes on the Grey's and she made all the smiling and crying moments and the highest level of professionalism, so .. seriously .. stop hating her !

If they were just going to write her off one season later - they should have just let George and Izzy both get on the elevator. Unless they are maybe thinking guest spot at random times.

I don't get why is Katherine such a big shot, like Megan said, she plays the same characters in all of her movies. And she's really annoying, how dare she complain about the long work hours while other people also work 17 hours a day, but they don't get millions for it? She doesn't know how lucky she is!
I like Izzie, but I can't stand Katherine, so I'd be glad if she left the show for good.

I KNEW IT!!! just let her go, PLEASE! I've never liked Izzie in the first place, she's annoying and quite frankly, a home-wrecker (first George's marriage to Callie, and now her own)! I wouldn't miss her.

The show has been SOoo GREAT without kh and tr knight. As far as I'm concerned, they HAVE NOT been missed!! The story lines for the rest of the cast is/has been just great this season. I'm LOVING IT!!

@ Andy... Yes she did, yes she did, yes she did.
She complained openly about the fact tha Ellen Pompeo was going to be paid more than her.
She took her own name out of Emmy consideration due to the fact she felt the writers had no given her strong enough material to warrant award.
And due to those two factors and the fact T.R. was leaving she asked publicly to be le out of her contract to pursue movies.
I used to love Izzie and Katherine Hiegl but the fact that she has been out most of the season makes me wish GA would just let her go. I mean Ellen Pompeo actually gave birth and hasn't missed an episode. Adoption is great but the physical requirements aren't the same, and if she knew she was planning this, she should have never taken that first leave of abscence. She took over a month off for a movie, came back for an episode and then left again on maternity leave. Just let her leave she doesn't want to be there and the fns are tried of her selfish crap.

Her movies suck.....She plays the same characters all the time. It is like seeing Izzie stevens on the big screen. Honestly, i have not missed her at all and she is not that big of a name. If she wants to leave they should let her. The show went on fine without whiney George and the show will go on without drama queen, Izzie, just fine.

Very difficult to say..Heigl is a huge name for the show and they may want to hold her to that contract. Hard to say....but given the mess they have made of Izzie's storyline I do hope Katherine is allowed to leave. Big fans of hers and she belongs in movies. The show of course will suffer...last weeks episode was the lowest rated in Grey's history...I suspect with Heigl's return there will be a big boost..which may persuade ABC that letting her go is not wise.

Ok lets get the facts right...last season she made NO mention of her contract at all. She did NOT bash the show whatsoever and gave NO indication that she wanted to leave either. Fed up such blatant untruths. Stop trying to portray Heigl as the bad person here. Now she may wish to leave, she may not - personally I think she is a wonderful actress and after the mess the Grey's team have made of Izzie's storyline this season I would like to see her doing movies.

I have been wondering about this very topic since S6 has had very little KH imput. She's got a young family, a flourishing movie career and was the highest earner form the cast last year. KH doesn't need GA for her career anymore.
The storyline has ended her surgical career at SGMWH, no way back from that surely? The promo of Iz shows that Iz has found another residency in a less prestigious hospital, so if her marriage falls apart why would she go back to Seattle, other than to fianalise a divorce or reconcile with Alex. I could see her arriving in an ambulance escorting a patient who needs sugery that her hospital can't do.
I personally can't say I've missed Iz, the storylines have just evolved without her
