I see where you are coming from I honestly don't think its random by what has been happening on GA its very understandable to think of a theory like that. I'm just a wishful thinker but we can both agree there should be no more ADDITIONAL CAST MEMBERS and KR's promotion was too soon!

i am really happy that she is a new series regular i like her character a lot! the only problem is that there is way to many people on the show that means less time for the characters that i love

Exactly. KMK wasn't made a regular until Beat Your Heart Out (Ep.14) and JC until S6 premiere. Which is why I have my suspicions on such a quick decision.
Like I mentioned, I (hope) that since she's O/C's Addie, like Addison herself, won't get much of a SL or background (Addie's SL in S2 was just as Derek's estranged wife, while on S3 she wasn't that much of a SL until she got to PP), Teddy's SL is going to be tied to Cristina, which I can live with.
Oh, and LOL with GA having ADD. It so does.

I just don't see a reason why KH would want to stick to GA anymore. She has a lot going on and contract or not, she can make a way to get a release from it. PD has said he's sticking to his because it pays for the racing and he has been a BIG supporter of the show. Rumors have gone for KH for a long time. KR's addition makes me think that they might be preparing for something like this.
It's just a random theory though. I've been wrong before. :-P

I also believe that it too soon to make Kim Raver a regular I think they should've waited a least until episode 20 of season 6 to make her a regular cast member. I don't mind Teddy at all but like everybody says there are too many character and too many storyline going on, there is no focus, it like GA has ADD and it can't concentrate on a storyline therefore they can't develop a storyline well.
My favorite episodes this season were the Derek centric episode and the Arizona centric episode because there was focus. That has been missing this season in a lot of the episode especially on the Holidaze one.

I have mixed feelings about Kim Raver joining the cast.Teddy is a very likeable character (I actually like her so far). Teddy's feelings for Owen doesn't really phase me because because I'm really neutral about C/O. Christina needs a cardio mentor and Teddy's a perfect fit. There needs to be drama between couples and if that has to happen then it happens it's GA.
The problem is what everyone is reiterating THERE ARE TOO MANY CAST MEMBERS! I don't like that @ all and adding one more cast member full time so soon isn't right. SR should have at least waited longer to add Kim. She's not replacing cast members because if that were the case all the MW would be permanent cast members.(that would be a nightmare) I also have a feeling that Teddy will be Alex's ONS at the end of the crossover which will then give me a reason to not like her so much. So I'm going to wait and see how this plays out

Actually, I can imagine the show without Hunt and Lexie. Arizona and Callie have brought something really good to the show. I'm still waiting on the good that Hunt (aside from being Cris' bf) and Lexie are bringing.
Also remember that Addison wasn't liked that much until later S2 and Callie wasn't that popular until S3. Teddy was much well received but my guess is that she won't be liked a lot until later in S6.
I am on the belief that she's replacing someone and my guess is that KH won't go past S6, with her baby and movies. About the rest...I remember that SR stated that EP and PD are under contract for S8 (with what I assume a really big pay raise), so as long as they are there, I'm good.
I seriously doubt that SR is replacing originals. As head of the show, she'd like to keep the original formula that gave GA success but as originals leave permanently (like TR, BS) or temporarily (EP and KH), some change has to be done.
I say wait and see.

I'M thinking that Shonda is trying to get rid of the originals. If she add more new character the original would have less to do so when the times comes they would leave, that the only thing that makes sense to me. Sometime it looks like PD, EP, and even JC and SO look bored in their scenes. Just saying.

I don't like Kim Raver's acting. I don't like her character Teddy. So, i will be waiting until the show airs and watching on tivo and fast forward through her scenes. We don't need another cast member. 13!!! Not a lucky number!!!

deme u can't divide like that .. the characters are not talking solo, they are interacting with each other, and of course meredith will not get only 3 min/episode .. come on !! u freak out very quickly.. im very cool with it, and i trust shonda .. imagine now GA without Owen, Arizona, Mark, Callie, Lexie.. they all are new characters and we all like them, give Teddy a chance

I suppose Teddy is Cristina's Addison? SGH hasn't been as interesting without a cardio surgeon in the story mix
I keep reading that Owtina are still doing scenes together, so that's encouraging. I don't recall ever seeing where Owen lives, am I right?

I almost forgot about the GA going beyond S7, and all these new actors maybe there on the understanding that in S8 they'll takeover. At that stage I won't be watching if EP, PD,SO walk away from GA.

The plan must have always been there for Ted to be in GA for S6. It wouldn't make sense for Cris's storyline to have another cardio surgeon to flit in and out so quickly if they were a decent surgeon.
But the main cast is expanding again, and I think the mw docs that were introduced are surely now superfluous now. I know there is a strong rumor saying that KH is going to have another break from GA after she returns in 6:12. But I want to see more of the original cast, not less and less cos so many characters need a stoyline

Ok the charachter is really interesting, but they are TOO MANY!!!!!! I mean in some episodes people like Lexie or Alex or Mark went missing because there wasn't time for all of them, so why they added a new regular??? WHY??? And I don't like how they are trying to make sure that we like her...

Grrrr this doesn't make me happy. I so don't like Teddy or Owen. I was in hopes of them running off into the sunset. But it doesn't look like it is going to happen. But maybe Teddy will teach Yang something. But probably no, she will just make her life a living hell. I'm beginning to think that Izzy isn't going to be coming back full time and George is dead. Sooo you add 4 new people in there places? That is just not right. They need to get rid of MW people and Teddy and Owen. I know a new spin off of Grey's with Teddy Owen and MW people and I won't have to see them people again. LOL!!! Cause I wouldn't watch it:)

NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I HATE Kim Raver! shes terrible on the show and I hate her messing with owen and Cristina! We don't need another regular on here! Shonda knows how much people HATE Teddy and I hope her ratings drop! She better not mess with Owen and Cristina! There is no chemistry with Owen and Teddy and there never will be! Owen and Cristina are the best couple on the show and the reason I watch the show so if something happens with them I am done and I am sure alot of Owenstina fans feel the same way! U SUCK SHONDA!! AND KIM RAVER TO!!!!

Mmm...it's too fast. Could this mean that she may be filling a 'spot'? I am having some doubts about raising her to regular in such a short amount of time.
I like Teddy but having another series regular is too much. I think she's going to be like Addison. There to stir the pot but not much of a background. Hopefully.
GA would be lucky if it gets to be like ER, in terms of handling a big quantity of SL and characters.

This is getting ridiculous...they dont need anymore regulars. By adding more and more regulars, the original cast gets less and less screen time. The characters that got us hooked on this show are being up-staged by all of these "new regulars". The show is named GREY'S Anatomy, not "How Many Random Actors Want A Job On A Hit TV Show?" They need to cut back on the number or "regulars" and focus on Meredith, Derek, Cristina, Alex, Izzie, Bailey, Chief, and I guess Mark and Callie, even though they are not techincally "original characters". BRING BACK THE GREYS THAT WE ALL FELL IN LOVE WITH WAY BACK IN SEASON 1!!!!!

I really, really like Teddy. (Minus her getting in the way of Owen/Cristina). I'd take her over all the Mercy westers any day :)

For now, I don't mind Kim's character, Teddy. But, as Meredith and Derek are my favorite characters, I have to point out that they didn't have a lot of screen time this season, except the all Derek epi, which, btw, I loved. I mean, I get Ellen was pregnant and I'm really glad for her and the baby, but now that she is back, it's time to give fans a little bit more of Meredith, don't you think? The reason why I fell in love with this show was the great bond and friendship between all the characters, along with the love present out there, chemistry and interesting storylines. And now, this season there was an episode totally without Mark, epi where, like somebody pointed out, we saw 3-4 min of Alex, epis without Izzie (I know that KH wasn't on set at the time, and Izzie is deffinately not one of my favorites), but I still noticed. How much of Bailey have we seen this season?? I LOVED 2 epis that were different, the ones showing Derek and Arizona in the first plan, because they focused bas

She's only been in two episodes. The audience does not know her and hasn't had a chance to warm up to her. After almost an entire season, it made sense that Jessica was promoted to a series regular. However, it is way too early for Kim Raver to be one. I'm worried that Grey's is just going to be a show where actors can just enter or leave. It's losing focus of the original characters. This is starting to get a little ridiculous.
