The concept of Life Unexpected isn't that difficult to understand:

A 16-year old girl, following years in foster care, seeks parental emancipation from her birth parents, who have never met her.

Sounds simple and intriguing enough, right? But tell that to Baze, the father of Lux on this new CW series. It premieres on Monday and the clip below - courtesy of the pilot episode - finds Lux trying to explain her situation to her slow-to-comprehend father.
