Reporting on fake news has officially become the most effective stepping stone into primetime television.

Following in the hilarious footsteps of Steve Carell and Ed Helms (The Office), as well as Rob Riggle (new CBS show Team Spitz), Jason Jones is the latest correspondent from The Daily Show to land a starring sitcom role.

The comedian will anchor in ABC's comedy pilot How to Be a Better American. It centers on a father (Jones) that embarks on a mission to be a better person, dragging his family along for the ride.

Jones has worked with Jon Stewart on the Comedy Central fake news program since 2005. He's appeared on How I Met Your Mother and is married to another pretend journalist, Samantha Bee.
