The Mentalist

A long-time, popular guest star (on shows such as Heroes and Entourage), Malcolm McDowell is coming to The Mentalist.

The actor, who got his major break playing nihilist Alex in A Clockwork Orange, will portray the leader of a religious cult on the CBS drama. Look for Jane to get entangled with McDowell's character.

According to series creator Bruno Heller, the religious leader is a "great heavy." He added:

"He seems to have his sinister tentacles in every pie, which is really mixing horrible metaphors, but he's that kind of guy. We're very lucky to get someone as great as Malcolm McDowell to play that."

The Mentalist returns with a new episode on March 4.
