Past Life Review: Pilot Episode
We were impressed by the new Fox show Past Life. On this week’s pilot episode, Kate and Price solve an old murder and abduction case involving two missing girls. They are able to use a young boy’s past life experiences to help solve a murder and find a missing girl.
We love the premise of this show. Reincarnation used to help bring a murderer to justice. What an awesome concept! Justice for the dead… in such a radical and exciting way! I just hope there isn’t someone in my head waiting for help!!!
Have to admit, the visions of Rachel’s murder were a bit on the creepy side and hard to watch. Poor Noah, having to live out being murdered over and over… like you don’t have enough to deal with as a teenager!
Thankfully Kate and detective Price are there to help. Kate is not your average psychologist; she is one that believes in using these past life experiences to solve crimes. She is a believer, of all that might be unexplainable.
We wonder what Kate’s personal involvement might be towards reincarnation. Why has she dedicated her life to solve crimes using past life experiences? This is not your typical way to fight crime.
Her partner, Price, on the other hand is a straight shooter. He might be a bit superstitious, but has made his feeling perfectly clear about reincarnation. He is the nonbeliever in the equation. After solving their first crime together, we see that he might to begin to doubt his own belief system.
We also learned that Price has recently lost his wife tragically. We guess this personal loss has been part of the reason he has trouble believing in reincarnation. After the death of a loved one people have the tendency to close off, not wanting to believe in anything spiritual.
The pilot episode was highly entertaining. We look forward to learning more about our main characters and also these so called past life experiences used to solve crime. We see a bright future for this new Fox show!
Here are a few of our favorite Past Life quotes from this episode:
Price: I'm just getting my angel back. I always do that after a car ride, especially this one. What?
Kate: Do you not see the irony here Mr. Non-believer, knocking on wood, playing with little pretend angels?
Price: So I'm superstitious, big deal. I also don't fly on Friday the 13th, or walk under ladders, or bet on the Yankees in day games, it's bad luck. | permalink
Price: I guess sometimes evil is just evil. I'll say this, I would have never believed what just happened it I hadn't seen it with my own eyes.
Kate: The greater the doubt, the greater the awakening.
Price: Wow, that's pretty profound for being up all night.
Kate: It's Einstein; I saw it on a bumper sticker once. | permalink
Price: It must be hard being so damn right all the time.
Kate: It is a burden, but I've lived with it.
Price: Just so you know, I still think you're crazy. | permalink
Price: I don't know, maybe the kids just depressed, he barely ever talks.
Kate: So what just load him up on meds, and that's going to solve the problem?
Price: Worked for me so far, knock on wood. | permalink
