David Anders on The Vampire Diaries: First Look
While The CW is depriving us of new episodes of The Vampire Diaries until March 25, at least the network continues to release sneak peeks at key scenes and guest stars on the way.
Sexy case in point: Damon hooking up with Matt's mother.
Less sexy case in point, below: David Anders as Elena and Jeremy’s uncle, Jonathan Gilbert.
“When we started talking about this role, I immediately thought, ‘What about Sark from Alias?’ Julie Plec told Entertainment Weekly. “We called his agent the next day and the day after that [the deal was] done.”
Anders, who has recently appeared on Heroes and 24, debuts on the April 15. He arrives in Mystic Falls in time for Elena and Jeremy to sell their father’s doctor office.
“He has to sign the escrow papers but he isn’t quite ready to give the office up,” said producer Kevin Williamson. “But like everyone else in town, he’s there for something [else]. His intentions are not pure.”

Oh my goodness, I think this just elevates this show to all time favorite of 2009. SARK! on TVD! ahhh (I kinda squealed like a fan-girl, and I so don't do that). He's the best good looking/ slightly villainous/ interesting character actor. (and they kinda wasted him on 24 this season!) Plus David Anders is from Oregon- go OREGON! who hoooo! I wonder if they want him to have a British accent, of if he'll finally get to use her real accent...

i'm so happy, they hired david anderrs, i loved him on alias loke crazy, and then i watched heroes just for him, i'm excited to see him on vampite diaries
