Um Katie's gone and we can't do anything about it now.I mean unless you know KH personally you can't make an accurate opinion about her or what she did with GA. If she didn't want to be on GA anymore that's on her. This KH vs SR idea is pointless and overhyped by the media. So if you have an opinion on KH and what she did that's on you.

I actually loved Izzie's character and how she actually cared about her patients and her positive energy but the latter half of s5 was where I grew to love Izzie. I am always going to be an A/I fan at heart and will miss the couple dearly(but I'm not going to hate ALL of Alex's future love interests)I agree with a lot of people by saying that S6 Izzie wasn't the Izzie we all grew to love (particularly in Episode 9 I was pissed @ the writers) I think that Izzie's character needs closure and it doesn't take KH being there (OR KILLING HER CHARACTER OFF!) to do that the writers just need some creativity. I've come to accept that Izzie is not returning b

I won't miss her. I hated Izzie from the pilot, so...good for me!

About the maternity leave, it's a case by case basis. I don't think that taking the leave was the problem, but the length of it.

yeah, I totally agree! I used to love Izzie, now looking back, she was one of my favourites! But in seasons 4-5 she became a very unpleasant person, so I don't feel sorry seeing her go.

Someone somehow beats me to the punch of me saying what I want to say. I agree with you Alexia, and your english is very good. :D

I'm not going to miss KH but I'll miss Izzie. I loved Izzie but then she turned into someone I do not recognize. Izzie... I'm going to miss, not KH at all. And I care about is LexZie, too. I just love them. (sighs) But if she is, good luck to her! Bye bye, have some luck in the movie industry and whatnot.

I'm missing the 'simply not care'-option.
She can go, she can come back... whatever.

I'm going to miss the Izzie we knew in the early seasons, but not the character she became lately. Shonda made Izzie's life miserable, probably because she hates Katherine (which I totally understand, I don't like her either) and eventually she turned this loveable character into an unlucky drama queen, who I'm not going to miss.

    (sorry for my english)

    Hi.

I love Izzie. I think KH is making a career mistake by leaving the show. The makeup artists and hairstylists and camera men make her look stunning. No other movie she has been in seems to shoot her and make her acting and appearance look as good.

However, as for a Maternity leave, or adoptive parent leave. By law you are allowed to take one from your job. She exercised her right. Also, an adoptive parent needs the adjustment period to get to know her mother, possibly, more so than a biological mother. There is nothing wrong with a mother who wants to take a maternity leave, or doesn't it is up to them. Maybe the US would would like to catch up with the rest of the world with maternity, paternity, and adoptive leave of up to a year rather than 3 months. That is archaic

What's wrong with Katherine deciding to be a good mother? I'm not saying Ellen is a bad one, but a child needs his mother 24/7, and no, a nanny is not a solution. At least not the best one. I was a nanny of a 4-year-old boy and an 18-month-old girl who have been raised by nannies since they were very little, and they were not okay. Missing their mother had a great impact already on their lives, being hard to handle, always crying, being aggressive, etc. So no, Katherine's prolonged maternity leave was not unfair.
Oh, and by the way, it's not because of this long hiatus that she left the show: she had wanted to leave years ago, but Shonda didn't let her go because of the FANS.

I don't really think this question needs to be asked. OF COURSE the majority of Grey's fans will miss her and never agreed with her leave of absence to begin with. Ellen Pompeo didn't miss any episodes, and she had to carry the child, go through labour, and deal with raising a new baby. Katherine Heigl didn't do the first two steps so I see no excuse for her leaving for an entire season only to pull a no show when she was supposed to return for the last few episodes. There really is no excuse. This is both Katherine Heigl and the nutty producers of this show's fault. The production team and some of the cast members have not had their priorities straight and it's come back to do some season damage to both the show and their reputations.

It's time for Katherine Heigl, Shonda Rhimes, and the rest of the producers of this show to SMARTEN UP.
