When will we see, or hear from, Red John against on The Mentalist?

Fans of this CBS hit are anxious for information on the serial killer, but series creator Bruno Heller would only reveal the broadest of details. He told TV Guide:

"The story will move a great leap forward. But they're not going to catch [him]. They're going to come too close for comfort."

Heller added that Jane and Lisbon will pick up on Red John's scent again... and the situation will place one of the CBI team members in jeopardy.
