American Idol Review: Contestants Go Country

at .

As Ellen DeGeneres told viewers at every opportunity last night: the Shania Twain left the station on American Idol.

Who got on board, as this country star mentored the remaining six contestants? Pretty much everyone. There weren't any weak performances. But there were two especially strong ones:

  1. Casey James heeded the judges' advice from a week ago and tried something different. He didn't rely on his guitar skills or great looks, just his solid voice. It really shined through on his cover of "Don't." Best of the night.
  2. Siobhan Magnus has never met a note she didn't go for, which certainly proved to be the case with her rendition of "Any Man of Mine." No one can ever accuse her of playing it safe.

Oddly, all four men chose ballads, while Magnus and Crystal Bowersox sped things up for their performances. As for who should go home tonight?

Sorry, Aaron Kelly, but this is an easy decision. Be proud you've made it this far, but also have your bags packed. You just seem a bit too immature and inexperienced on stage compared to the other finalists.

Do you agree? Who would you send home? See how we ranked the top six in our weekly recap and sound off now!
