Kaya, I'm sure that if we bring in a "non-white" person into the show, she/he will be more likable than Jessica S. It's because in real life, her acting is horrendous. It makes me cringe.

that is not necessarily true, many long running, popular shows have had main characters leave. For example 90210 last season with ethan leaving, and cheers a bunch of main characters left and came back. These characters leaving and the possibility of them coming back make the show more interesting to watch.
Jenny: I'm ok with her being gone. Although I don't really like her character that much (she can be soo very selfish & immature), often times her story line has been the most entertaining-- I mean esp compared to say Nate. I will miss her.
V: I really like her. I actually she is one of the few characters that actually keeps it a little more grounded, realistic, and NY. Think about it-- NY is one of the most diverse cities in the entire US and once you remove her there is not one person of color/minority character on a show based in NY. Granted I get that GG is about the UES and that's not the most diverse area... but come on, not one non-white character. In fact, the only non WASP character is Cyrus (& Aaron Rose). They did do away w/ the token minorities (Blair's minions the first season). Look writers, I'm not making an appeal for tokenization or anything, but the fact you haven't even touched this issue is quite disappointing considering you've been so cutting ed

As I said with Jenny, she's not my favorite but these characters leaving isn't a good sign. And as much as you don't like them they have become main cast. Even if they are boring or bitchy, it won't be the same without Jenny and Vanessa there.
Once main characters start leaving the show is over. I'm pretty sure Season 4 will be the last.

i really hope that vanessa never comes back!! eew.. i really hate her.. she is so effing irritating.. i cant undertsand why she's still in gossip girl.. she is horrible...why was she even hired as a series regular for season 2 and 3.. whenever she had lots of lines in an episode, it really bugs me! hate hate her!! never liked her..even for a second.. i really hope i never see her again in GG.. i prefer georgina than her..haha or i think they'd rather introduce a new character or just play with the ones they have..except V!!

Why would she still be listed as a series regular when she's in a different country? That's confusing. And without Jenny and Vanessa, the show is going to feel pretty empty. I hope they introduce new regulars. Good riddance to Vanessa, she was becoming kind of irrelevant.

Alexander, that's because Jenny Humphrey is the "It" girl. She has a new storyline away from Gossip Girl but it just hasn't been brought up yet as far as I'm concerned. There's also another one that the author wrote about called "The Carlye's" but I haven't gotten into yet.

Actually, this may be a really good thing for the show. Although I dislike Vanessa's character throughout all the seasons and I want her to go just as badly as everyone else, I believe there is reasoning behind her much needed departure and I'll be happy to explain rather than just say "she sucks as a character" so that my opinion is voiced for Josh and Stephanie to see. First, I don't think she's been given horrible story lines at all. She's hooked up with Nate and had a really good thing going on with him in the first and second season so I don't believe all that talk about her having a bad storyline is fault. What I do see and have noticed since season 1 is that she is just a really bad actress. Her voice is monotone and when she speaks, it sounds like someone is scratching the chalkboard because it's just that, screechy and cracky. Also, for anyone saying she's irrelevant, I don't think that's true. She's been given three seasons for us to change our minds about her but it still ha

Without Vanessa around, where does that leave Dan? His character is often useless in the show this season. It feels like the two of them have been on their own series seperate from the rest of GG.
So excited that there is going to be tension between Serena and Jenny. I really dislike Jenny's character as she has no reason to be such a complete screw up. I also can't stand Taylor Momsen's acting, the shift eyes thing she does every 2.5 seconds when she's supposedly "frustrated" or trying to seem "innocent" annoys me to no end. She needs to get slapped out, hopefully by Serena, then Blair.

I have personally never liked Vanessa and I think its because she wasnt an original character and ive felt like she is just intruding on everyone elses story lines and she just doesnt really fit with anything on the show I mean we already have one outsider, Dan. I mean we dont really need two.

Thank God she's going. Never really liked Vanessa too much. Her usefulness was used up in the first season after a rather short stint as romantic rival to Serena. I am, however, going to miss Jenny. I find her to be one of the more entertaining characters and I predict I will find a noticeable drop in my laughs per episode while she is gone. At least it looks like they may have a legitimate, plot related reason for sending her away. The way she's heading right now she may be in need of some serious assistance; which is what I imagine they will send her away to get.

OMG I don't hate her I just think the writer don't know what to do with the other characters in the show I mean chuck and Blair since season 1 having been getting good story lines but I cant seem to fine any constant story lines for the rest of the character in the show like Vanessa and Dan I just find my self fast forwarding their scenes which I sad I think they need to get a better writing team for the show so the character will become more liked
Does this mean that Dan will now get a real storyline? SUCCESS.

I don't really see the point in Vanessa leaving. She's one of the 2 characters that's actually in school and doing things. All Chair does is scheme and when Serenate tries to do anything productive, something always goes wrong. BUT I'm so glad jenny's leaving for a bit. I can't stand the character or Taylor. She's so wishy washy and has no real purpose. Plus, she's a backstabbing bitch who deserves to be beat down by Serena!
