Should American Idol Judges Have Saved Michael Lynche?

at .

Thank goodness for the American Idol judges.

Following his weakest performance of the season, Michael Lynche was included in the bottom three this week, alongside Aaron Kelly and Aaron Garcia.

Near the conclusion of the hour, Ryan Seacrest revealed that Big Mike was voted off the show - but Simon Cowell and company stepped in and unanimously used their one-time ability to save a contestant from elimination.

Indeed, Lynche lives to sing again on Tuesday night... but should he? Did the judges make the right decision?

The TV Fanatic take: Considering the judges' save exists, Simon, Ellen, Kara and Randy used it properly last night. Lynch has far more potential than Kelly or Garcia.

But it's a lame rule that shoud be axed from Idol. Isn't the entire point of the competition for fans to decide on the winner? Let them speak freely, producers, even if their votes will occasionally be misguided.

What do you think? Should Big Mike have been saved?
