Sophia Bush Lands Role on Comedy Pilot; One Tree Hill Future Uncertain

Sophia Bush will be leaving One Tree Hill this fall... if The CW cancels the long-running program, that is.

The actress has landed a role in the family comedy pilot Southern Discomfort, but it sits in second position to One Tree Hill. In other words: if OTH gets renewed for an eighth season, Brooke Davis will be a part of it.

What are the odds of this happening? "Better than 50/50," a source tells E! News. While The CW hasn't revealed its full fall schedule yet, it's possible the network might bring back both OTH and Life Unexpected.

Both shows would receive 13-episode orders. As for the future of Melrose Place? It's not nearly as bright.

One Tree Hill finally returns with new installments on April 26.
