Gossip Girl Season Finale Spoilers: Shootings, Rings & OMG Twists

Just one week from tonight, the Gossip Girl season finale features big payoffs, several OMG! moments, a shocking departure and a comeback by Georgina Sparks.

That's just the beginning of it, too.

Gossip Girl executive producer Stephanie Savage promises all of the above and more on May 17, but in the meantime, she wants to address a certain UK promo.

If you haven't seen it, follow the link above and you'll see why it's a hot topic. But Savage insists (on EW) that it all makes sense when you watch the whole episode.

“I really encourage people who have seen that promo to tune in and watch the whole episode in context,” Stephanie pleads with fans. “Those were just a few moments that were taken out of context to create the most salacious experience possible."

"Some people who are having a negative reaction to what they’re seeing [in the promo] I think will have a different reaction when they see it in context. Everyone’s making decisions that are reasonable based on the information that they have.”

“This is a story that has been three years in the telling - going back to the pilot,” she reminds us. “And that’s a story that we’ll keep telling in Season 4 (which starts in Paris). So I don’t think it’s coming out of nowhere. And it lands on everybody."
