Grey's Anatomy Review: "Shiny Happy People"

at .

Next week marks the season finale of our beloved Grey's Anatomy. For whatever reason this reminds us of a cheesy one liner - we hate to see you leave, but we love to watch you go!

We wouldn't go as far as saying we felt that this week's episode, "Shiny Happy People" was a filler, but it really did put the 60 minute show to good use to tie up some loose ends.

One of our favorite loose ends happened to be Miranda and Ben's blossoming relationship. When Ben interrupted Bailey and said:

Ben: Now woman, I am naked and I look good. Are you going to sit there and lecture me or are you going to let me take you into my bedroom and have my way with you. | permalink

We got to admit he had our hearts pounding!

Ben definitely is the type of man Miranda needs in her life. He is able to stand up to her and will not take any of her nonsense lying down quietly. He made it crystal clear to her and the rest of us that he is not looking to play games and is in it for the long hull. We really heart him and the beginning of what looks like the relationship we always wanted for Miranda.

A Bailey Smile

Meredith was the one person in the most difficult place last night because she finally had to admit to herself and Cristina that it just isn't the two of them anymore.

She is married to Derek and her loyalties have to lye with him. Thankfully, Meredith did get herself involved a bit when she gave Owen a piece of her mind. We were worried that Cristina wouldn't find out the truth - and we were shocked that Teddy heard the whole conversation!

What do you think Owen means when he said he isn't sure about his feelings for Teddy? We feel like something will definitely happen in the season finale that will make his choice clear on who he cares about most.

Oh Lexie! What to do! What to do! When Mark gave his speech to Lexie it only left us more confused!

We really do like Alex and Lexie together, but Mark is in LOVE with Lexie and pretty much proposed to her in a way. It definitely was no post-it, but it was something!

We wonder if Shonda purposely had Alex seem more confused this week. Why else would Alex be calling himself a duck one week, but kissing Lexie so passionately the week before?

Who do you want Lexie to end up with? Do you think Mark's feelings for Lexie are as genuine as they seem or do you think it is more about wanting what you can't have?

Alex and His New Patient

We enjoyed Demi Lovato's character and her storyline because it involved Alex asking Lexie - the computer brain - for help. It's always nice to have a case that seems unsolvable and then our beloved doctors come to save the day!

The passionate kiss that Callie and Arizona shared in the elevator only means one thing: Whatever feelings they have for each other are still burning strong!

We still don't see how they are going to overcome their problem. We feel neither one should have to budge from their ground. We can't wait to see where their story goes!

We all know what is looming next week and for some reason we still feel creepy April will be involved. It is too obvious for Shonda to have Mr. Clark be the killer. He may have the biggest reason to want to kill Derek, but seeing that Meredith is pregnant (yeah, we called it!) could throw April off the deep end...just saying!

Until the much anticipated two-hour long season finale next week we leave you with a few of our favorite Grey's Anatomy quotes after the jump!

Mark: Lex - I'm still in love with you. I tried not be, but it didn't work. And Sloane's gone, there is no baby, and I don't want to sleep around. I want another chance. I'm in love with you.
Lexie: Karev, he's...Mark, I have a boyfriend.
Mark: I know. All I'm saying is that you could have a husband. | permalink
Meredith: Ask most people what they want out of life and the answer is simple - to be happy. Maybe it's this expectation though of wanting to be happy that just keeps us from ever getting there. Maybe the more we try to will ourselves to state's of bliss, the more confused we get - to the point where we don't recognize ourselves. Instead we just keep smiling - trying to be the happy people we wish we were. Until it eventually hits us, it's been there all along. Not in our dreams or our hopes but in the known, the comfortable, the familiar. | permalink
Callie: You don't want fifty years to go by and realize that you let the love of your life get away. So go - try! | permalink
Meredith: You have to understand that it's been just you and me for a long time, now its me and Derek. And it's you and me. I told you what I said this morning because it's you and me, but I can't tell you anymore because it's me and Derek.
Cristina: Fine I get it, but I need you to understand that I need there to be a me and Owen. | permalink
Alex: It's like the computer froze! | permalink
Lexie: The point is - I need to know what we are. What this is.
Alex: We're a thing, yeah we're together. We're a thing. Whatever. | permalink
Richard: A happy patient is a healthy patient Yang. | permalink
Meredith: It's a common belief that positive thinking leads to a happier healthier life. As children we are told to smile, be cheerful, and put on a happy face. As adults we are told to look on the bright side, to make lemonade, and see glasses as half full. Sometimes reality can get in the way of our ability to act the happy part though. Youre hope can fail, boyfriends can cheat, friends can disappoint. It's in these moments, when you just want to get real, drop the act, and be your true scared unhappy self. | permalink
Owen: Lets move in together. Good, you cant answer. That's good I don't want you to, I ran it past my shrink and she thinks it's a good idea. So think about it. Me, you, our own place.
Cristina: Yes.
Owen: What! Yes?
Cristina: Yes, but I need to warn you that this is my fourth martini and my judgment is severely impaired. Also, I'm a real easy lay right now. | permalink
Meredith: At my parties we drink beer and dance on tables.
Derek: Are you insulting my party?
Meredith: It is getting kinda lame out there.
Derek: Duty calls. | permalink

What did you think of this week's episode?
