RIP, The Ghost Whisperer
We have bad news for fans of The Ghost Whisperer.
The rumors that another network might pick up this series after CBS surprisingly canceled it last week have proved to be just that: rumors. ABC has passed on it.
Executive producers Ian Sander and Kim Moses have released the following statement, officially bidding farewell to the show:
“After five wonderful seasons and over 100 episodes, we are disappointed to announce Ghost Whisperer will not be returning for a sixth season. We’ve had an incredible experience and owe a debt of gratitude to everyone involved. We continue our relationship with ABC Studios and look forward to developing many more successful projects together in the future.”
Will you miss The Ghost Whisperer? Eulogize it now.

Not being a fan of the sitcoms and bloody series put out these last few years, it was refreshing to find a series that I really looked forward to watching and I also avidly watched the reruns. The characters and stories were varied and worth watching. I think it's reprehensible to complete a series after a five-year run without an ending or completion, just leaving everyone hanging. I am not a fan of CBS or ABC and will no longer spend any time watching whatever they put out. Bad business dumping a show with 8 million viewers. tsk tsk bad mistake.

I miss the show and feel disgusted with CBS and ABC for canceling the show before bringing it to a conclusion. It would certainly put me off watching (and getting into) another show that was made by either network. Even if they don't make a whole season it would be nice if they had the decency to bring it to conclusion. When Fox canceled Futurama it was the persistence of fans emailing, writing, sending in petitions that got Futurama back on the air.I'd suggest that we continue to harass CBS and ABC until they at least bring the show to conclusion, emails, petitions, websites,I would like to start a petition,so if you agree that they should have the decency to bring the show to conclusion - given what the show was about.Fox finally caved with Futurama and it had no where near the viewing figures that Ghost Whisperer had when it was canceled. When they canceled Ghost Whisperer almost 8 million people were watching every episode.

I love the show and I'm the biggest fan of the show! I think they should do an other few seasons here is the idea Melinda has another kid (a girl) and Melinda doesn't let her talk to ghosts just Aiden! So the little girl feels the ghosts energy and gets sick and scared. So its like the same thing but she has another kid she still help ghosts into the light so it is like a whole big family ghost whispering! Hey hear me out!

Just got season 5 on DVD, and am disappointed that this series was canceled. Just to end the series up in the air like that. The endless story possibilities with Melinda's son Aiden.
Maybe rework it that Aiden is an adult and do another series in the same vain, that would be awesome, Aiden can refer to his mum for advice and that sort of thing.

I am still bummed out that the Ghost Whisperer is no longer on the air. I really hoped for ABC to pick it up. All of CBS's new are horrible. I am so disappointed that CBS has canceled this show. I have not been watching CBS since they canceled it. I do not feel or think that the series finale was how it would really end. Good quality shows that viewers love seem to get canceled all of the time. But yet, shows that are horrible seem to be the shows that get picked up for a ton of series.
