Glee Casting Scoop: Cheyenne Jackson to Take Over Vocal Adrenaline

at . Comments

Cheyenne Jackson is taking over on Glee.

Although previously spoilers have revealed that Idina Menzel will reprise her role as Shelby on season two, we can confirm that she will NOT return as the coach of Vocal Adrenaline.

Instead, that gig will fall to a character portrayed by Jackson, a Broadway star most recently seen on 30 Rock as a new cast member of TGS.

Jackson will appear on multiple episodes next season.

In other Glee casting news: Patrick Gallagher will not return as Ken Tanaka; while Chord Overstreet will come aboard as a rival for Finn.

The show premieres its new season on Tuesday, September 21.

damn it! i wanted bryan ryan to coach VA!!!!

if Shelby don't return as coach for VA, we'll see her probably dealing motherwood with Beth of course but also Rachel...I think they'll have more scene together. Poor Rach, it could be heartbreaking for her again but it's Rach! She's strong! (until now...)

I like Ken Tanaka. I feel bad he's leaving the show.

"she will NOT return as the coach of Vocal Adrenaline" so what's her role for season 2???? i want to see rachel & shelby again!!!! "while Chord Overstreet will come aboard as a rival for Finn" i can't wait for that happen

Ilovechriscolfer I the only one who's seriously pissed about this? There was still so much they could have done with her character, and i love her chemistry with Mr. Schue :)
and... I loved Ken Tanaka. He was so painfully awkward, it was hilarious.
I totally support bringing new people to the show, but I kind of feel like they're replacing some of what they already had. And I don't like it.

Glee Quotes

[to Finn] You know, I don't really know what's going to happen between us, but I know that you used to be the guy that would make me feel like the most special girl in the whole world, and it doesn't feel that way anymore. Now it just feels sad and confusing. And the worst part is that it doesn't even feel that bad anymore.

I'm engorged with venom, and triumph.
