If this wedding news was delivered to me before Season 6 I would have been really Happy For Cristina.. but now, It's just not as pleasing! I mean They are Certainly NOT ready to get married.. they nearly fell apart, Owen's no more my fav character.. and to be really honest, I was expecting and kinda rooting for Cristina and Jackson Avery thing to be rekindled... If this Gary Clark shooting incident has turned the Bad Ass Cristina we love to a Bridezilla Cristina, this is MORE traumatic for me than the McBaby miscarriage :/

I am not surprised by this at all. Glad to see Cristina and Owen are really giving it a shot. I wonder how they will help each other through PTSD and whether or not she'll be Dr. Yang-Hunt (HAHAHAHA!). I really wanted this to be Derek and Meredith (in case you couldn't tell how much I LOVE this couple with my screen name) but I like Cristina and Owen too.

I'm so happy for them! They deserve this, after having all the crap thrown at them in Season 6. I really hope this marriage is permanent too.
Read a KMK interview somewhere else about them having more domestic scenes, which is going to be hilarious because I can imagine them discussing on picking colours for the wall or something like that.

Glad to see its Owen/Christina and not Cal/Az...I do however wish it was Mer/Der for real...I just have this feeling we will have to go through more Mer/Der splits.
Here is an idea...keep a Greys/PP cross over going. Have Alex hook up with Der's little sister on PP.

The idea that a happy couple is a boring couple is kind of an interesting topic. I remember when I was in my 20s telling my gay best friend that I'd discovered "wholesomeness is exotic to me." He appreciated that b/c God knows we'd shared plenty of drama with each other over our combined tumultuous relationships. If in fact the happy times are "boring" consider that Mer just had a miscarriage, Der was nearly murdered... Whaa??? Not boring. Well, not in my opinion. Oh, by the way --my real life? It turned out my marriage didn't end up as wholesome or exotic as I'd imagined. :) {sigh} Ancient history. But it was for a while.
Anyway, I'm as surprised as the most of you with Christina & Owen's marriage. I really thought and hoped it was going to be Calzona. I can't wrap my head around this even though I wanted them to stay together. I have to think Shonda is going a direction that I want to experience. I actually like that the characters go through change. Like real

whys she doing a wedding in both her shows? I love them both, and she's really good - but this is just annoying. Whats the point? now people will think that she just can't think of original ideas. She's copying herself!!! She's never copied an idea before so whys she starting now!!!???

@ME the name obviously isn't registered, anyone posting as a guest can call themselves anything. And the four years comment wasn't referring to Owen/Cristina, it was about MerDer. Derek has been absolutely horrible to every woman he's ever been involved with on this show.
To be fair, Owen and Cristina have both been pretty lousy to each other at various points, so at least this marriage is slightly less retch-worthy than Meredith and Derek's. Only slightly, though.

Meh, couples sometimes get boring after the get married, so maybe the other couples will at least have exciting things happen.
This weeding would be stretching too much for Cristina and Owen, but since Ellen Pompeo is leaving after season 8 they're probably going to end the show after next season and they need to move the characters onto a new level for the conclusion.

Noooo! I just wanna say I'm so sad it's Cristina and Hunt :(
I was so hoping it would be Arizona and Callie, that would make more sense. Cristina is NOT CRISTINA anymore, the bad-ass Cristina we all liked in the beginning. Yes yes yes it's all for the gamechanger thing and it shows that "Cristina has grown" BUT in my honest opinion it all seems too forced what they're doing to Sandra Oh's character.... I think I'll focus on Merder and Calzona and the others from now on, cause watching C/O just MAKES ME SAD and their wedding would be unbearable to watch.

WOW can I say this, and this entirely my opinion of course and how I see it, I may be wrong. They are going to do with Owen and Cristina what they were going to do with Alex and Izzie, had KH stayed on the show. It seems to me that Shonda had this idea for Alex and Izzie in season 6, but KH left she couldn't do it anymore. Now Shonda is going to use the storyline of couple who rushed into marriage because they thought life was short and to deal with the fact that they got married before they were ready. Of course she is not going to break up Owen and Cris because she is going to show that rush marriage survive.

Shonda said she wanted something to symbolize that the show was would change in Season 7 (another game changer), and that nobody was going to be the same after the shooting.
I guess Cristina wanting to get married is one of the changes. And even in S3, Cristina didn´t want a big marriage. She said "you and me, city hall, only a justice of peace, Mer and Der."
I guess that´s what she´s gonna get! ;)

I don't know who this other person is posting comments with the name Me...I have to say, since I've been posting on this site with the user name Me registered with my email addy..I don't appreciate the site allowing someone else to use Me as their user name as well. It would'nt bug me so much maybe if the other "Me" knew what they were talking about. 1. MerDer is not boring. 2. Owen and Christina have not been together for four years. 3. Who is jerking who around in either of these relationships?? Nope! I really don't appreciate someone else being able to use the same user name that I've been using for about two years now.

I love Cristina. She is actaully one of my favorites. But I have a heard time thinking about two things,
1. Cristina WANTING to be a bride. Didn't we already see that is just not true after the whole Burke thing. Sure she has changed since Burke, but I don't think that part is different.
2. Cristina being married. Or WANTING to get married for that matter. I don't know why, I'm just having a hard time picturing it. Maybe I'll think differentally after S7 after they get married.

I am very excited for Cristina and Owen in season 7. It is going to be a difficult road but it sounds like Owen will be Cristina's rock in S7, like she was for him in S5. I love this couple because they fight through it all despite the odds. They are just exciting to watch when they are fighting or struggling with PTSD as when they are passionately making love. So happy that Cristina will get her "me and Owen".

I wouldn't call a guy jerking a woman around for four seasons followed by her deciding to just accept it and change to fit his ideal 'dealing with their dark issues', but that's probably just me.

When Shonda says that MerDer are the lighter couple she doesn't mean that they are boring. If Shonda thinks that MerDer are boring she would never admitted it in public. When Shonda says that MerDer are the lighter couple she means that their issues are lighter, less dark because they had dealt with their dark issues already hello season 1 through 4. Owen and Cristina haven't scratch the surface of their issues yet.
The issues that MerDer are confronting are everyday crap unlike Cris and Owen, you PTSD.
