Taylor Kinney Speaks on Vampire Diaries Character, Family Feud

by at . Comments

In an exclusive interview with TV Fanatic, Michael Trevino said his character of Tyler would be more involved than ever before on season two of The Vampire Diaries.

The entire family of the Lockwoods, in fact, will be on full display as Uncle Mason debuts on the September 9 premiere, showing up for his brother's funeral. Said Taylor Kinney, who will play this key role, to TV Guide Magazine:

"Mason has learned to harness his rage and is going to serve as a mentor to Tyler. I've come to teach Tyler that there are choices he can make to control his destiny as a human...or otherwise."

Loyal viewers don't need to be told what the actor means by "otherwise," do they?

Mason and Tyler

Kinney adds that his character doesn't exactly get along with Damon. But this is nothing new between the families.

"We don't get along," he says. "Historically, the Salvatores haven't gotten along with the Lockwoods for ages, and having a new Lockwood in town doesn't sit well."

Fans will have to wait until next month to learn more. In the meantime, they can visit our Vampire Diaries spoilers section for more season two scoop!

Thank god!!! He is hott. Stefan is hot and Damon is hot. Well Stefan is hot when he is with Elena and Damon is hot when he is not being such a whimp. Hope this guy doesn't become a puppy like Damon.

Vampire Diaries Quotes

You want a love that consumes you. You want passion and adventure, and even a little danger... I want you to get everything you're looking for. But for right now, I want you to forget that this happened. Can't have people knowing I'm in town yet. Goodnight, Elena.

Damon

Damon: You know what they are? Children. Like lighting a candle's going to make everything OK, or even saying a prayer. Or pretending Elena's not going to end up just like the rest of us murdering vampires. Stupid, delusional, exasperating little children. And I know what you're going to say: 'It makes them feel better, Damon.' So what? For how long? A minute, a day? What difference does it make? Because in the end, when you lose somebody, every candle, every prayer is not going to make up for the fact that the only thing you have left is hole in your life where that somebody that you cared about used to be. And a rock with a birthday carved into it that I'm pretty sure is wrong. So thanks, friend. Thanks for leaving me here to babysit. Because I should be long gone by now. I didn't get the girl, remember? I'm just stuck here fighting my brother and taking care of the kids. You owe me big.
Alaric: I miss you too, buddy.
