Taylor Momsen: I'm Not a Whore For Masturbating!

by at . Comments

Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen does not censor herself.

In her quest for rock stardom, the 17-year-old certainly looks and acts the part, with racy outfits and controversial quotes surfacing as often as The Pretty Reckless' music.

What did the band's frontwoman say to make headlines this time?

A New Zealand radio station recently landed a Taylor Momsen interview in which she discussed The Pretty Reckless' song, "Going Down," about the Catholic church.

Why did they pen a song about that in particular? "I was raised Catholic. I f*%ked a priest once. Just kidding," she said. "It seemed like a fitting song to write at the time ... It was kind of a f*%k you to all the molestation going on. It was just insane."

Hard Rocker

Taylor Momsen could not care less what people think.

She went on to bash people for posting photos of her online, but also defended Perez Hilton and other bloggers for just doing their job: "I don't take [stories about me] to heart; I just look at it this way: My f*%king tampon's on the goddamn Internet."

Regarding her so-called best friend, she said: "[My vibrator] doesn't talk back to me so it's really not a best friend... I think women should equally be allowed to pleasure themselves as much as men. I think that if that has any more controversy than a man talking about pleasuring himself, then there's something wrong with the world. I just think men and women should be treated equally. I'm not a whore for masturbating, so, like, f*%k you if you want to call me one."

On the subject of teen heart throb Justin Bieber, Taylor said: "I don't know who Justin Bieber is. I only know his name because it keeps being brought up to me ... I listen to Led Zeppelin and The Beatles, so I have no idea who he is. That's not a dis; I just don't know."

Well, there you go. What do you think of Taylor? Is she a cool girl just speaking her mind, or a bad role model in need of a serious attitude adjustment?

Janieee, props. I agree 100% I'll admit I was too rough and outta line with my earlier comments about her and issues related to her but you put into words rather nicely, and reasonably, my thoughts on Ms. All-too-young Momsen

Yes she does make valid points, but at the same token lets be real here - if you don't want to get a rep for being "trashy" then you avoid comments such as these.
She's 16 at the end of the day, and is going through a major attitude adjustment in trying to find herself... which is fine but at the same time it makes people see her as someone very much self-absorbed and attention seeking.
She needs to calm down and start acting like a teenager.
If she wants to make points about equality and sexual preferences I'm sure she could be less crude... especially as a TV influence; because her attitude of putting 2 fingers up against the world is not doing her any justice.
But on her comment, I would have been fine with it had she said acted more professionally - since it was an interview... fine with friends but seriously? no.
On the whole - i'm not her biggest fan, even her character annoys the hell out of me!

Just to set all you cafeteria Catholics straight: the Church says that masturbating for BOTH girls AND guys is WRONG and should thus obviously not be condoned. It's something that probably almost everyone (if not indeed everyone) does at least once or more times in their life but it's also a temptation that must not be acted upon. No pain, no gain. No cross, no crown. No work, no reward. So you can either keep deluding yourself with thinking you can call yourself a Catholic, while at the same time supporting issues that the Church EXPLICITLY forbids, or you can come clean and take your faith seriously. C'est tout ;~)

Sure its surprising to see a teenager talk about this in the media, but what she's saying is true.
Look, I'm Catholic and I would say the same as Taylor. It IS disgusting. Its liek trying to find a loophole in the Bible.
As for her comments on masturbation, I think she's absolutely right, and I salute her for saying that women have just as much right to masturbate as men. Nobody blinks an eye about a 15-year-old boy wanking, why should'nt a 16 year old girl be allowed to pleasure herself?

I dont get why the hate towards her, she's being real and not fake like every celebrity out there. Masturbation should not be a taboo, why does men can talk about jerkin off at the age of 13 and stuff, and a girl who talks about it is suddenly called a ''whore'', like wtf? Men and women should be treated equally. And what if she masturbates? she's not the first nor the last teenager to do it, so yeah.

she's gonna grow up. i used to be her.
and then life happened. i thought that i could change the world as long as i rocked hard and kept voicing my opinions. then, i realized that i don't live in a bubble. although i still don't give crap about other people, i have to at least pretend. because i may need their help one day. besides, you get to tired of fighting against the world all the time. you can only do so much. actually, she's in a much diff position than me though. i mean, she's already got money to do whatever the heck she wants

I used to hate her until I realized that everyone during their teenage years are looking for their "identity" and trying new stuff. It's her choice to look and behave like this, so whatever floats her boat, you know? I'm just asking people not to hate her because of her style and the way she chooses to live, she's very beautiful overall. Is it true she chose not to go to college though?

Am I the only Catholic who's NOT offended by Taylor Momsen? The problems that she's commenting on are real, and if the Church wants people to stop dissing it then they should try actually solving the problems instead of hating on their critics. Taylor Momsen DOES come across as kind of awful and teenage at times, but that's kind of inevitable at her age and overall I think that she's pretty cool. She's also uber-talented and I have high hopes for her career. Miss Nothing is an awesome song, even though the music video is completely embarrassing. Also: I give her major props for trying to level the playing field when it comes to masturbation. (My vibrator may not be my best friend, but it IS my boyfriend haha.)

I hated her. UNTIL NOW!
