Gossip Girl Round Table: "Double Identity"

at .

Welcome back to another edition of TV Fanatic's Gossip Girl Round Table, where our esteemed panel reflects on the events of last night's episode, "Double Identity."

Below, Gossip Guy and Mister Meester and the returning DANdy take on a variety of topics, from Juliet's agenda to Dan's romantic plans and Chair's future ...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. What was your favorite Gossip Girl quote from last night?
Gossip Guy: I gotta give it up for Chuck for his usual, "I'm Chuck Bass" line.  This episode it felt particularly poignant as our man rose from the dead.
Mister Meester: Blair: "I could care less about his Bassets and probably he's been filtering them through some foreign government so I won't know." Bassets. Wow, that was a good one. Just when you think the Chuck puns have been exhausted ...
DANdy: "Chuck got shot?" Not because the words were especially witty or moving, but because Leighton Meester's line reading was just pitch-perfect. In that moment, Blair went from pretending not to care about Chuck to showing her complete vulnerability. C'est manifique, Leighton!
2. What's been your favorite part of the season so far?
Gossip Guy: I can pinpoint an exact moment: When Serena walked in to find both of men with new women and got to meet baby Milo all in front of her parents in a coincidence only Gossip Girl put pull off. It's just nice to see S taken down a notch for once. Besides, that way I can sneak in there to scoop her up in her moment of weakness. I'd like to think I offer her the best of Dan and Nate with some nice shoulders to cry on.
Mister Meester: The train station meeting of Chuck and Blair, without question. Maybe not the rekindled romance Chair fans hoped for, but Ed Westwick and Leighton Meester absolutely killed that scene. The way they conveyed such mixed emotions was so impressive.
DANdy: There are multiple parts, and they all belong to Katie Cassidy.
3. Is Juliet trying to sabotage Nate, Serena, or both?
Gossip Guy: Based on the picture of Serena being the only thing left on her wall, I'm going with S. Nate was just the obvious choice over Dan for manipulation. I mean seriously, who would you pick to go up against in a battle of wits? Exactly. Man bangs every time.
Mister Meester: It's becoming clearer after last night that Serena is the target and Nate is the (handsome!) pawn. The real questions are whether Juliet legitimately falls for the pawn, and who she's working for. S has her fair share of enemies at this point. Thoughts?
DANdy: Hell to the S. Prepare for some major girl-on-girl action, viewers, just not the kind many men might be hoping for.
Not Her Best Fashion
S may be the target of a certain Sharp shooter.
4. How will Blair react to Chuck's return to NYC?
Gossip Guy: Pff, it's going to take more than Chuck to destroy Blair Waldorf. I expect our Queen B to rise to her former glory again.
Mister Meester: She even admitted it wouldn't beher world without Chuck in it. It's only a matter of time before his reentry causes serious friction - and Eva pays the price. Jenny too, if that girl dares show her face at Fashion's Night Out, which I expect she will!
DANdy: To Chuck's return? Just fine. To Eva's return along with him? Worse than Gossip Guy would if locked in a room with Vanessa.
5. Who should Dan date?
Gossip Guy: Well we all know there's no way I could pick V and since S is his step-sister, I'm going to pick a third, very controversial choice: Blair. We all know from Gossip Girl spoilers that Dair is inevitable and there was something kind of hot about them together when they schemed last season. Plus, hey, I hear she's single now.
Mister Meester: Serena. It's confession time. I am an unabashed, card-carrying member of Team Derena. I printed out the card myself at Kinko's, but still.
DANdy: No one. The man has a son to raise. Let him focus on more important things, as he's in danger of becoming Brooklyn's version of Jon Gosselin.
Gossip Girl Season 4 Episode 2 Quotes
Chuck: When you dragged me in from that alley, you didn't just save my life, you gave me the hope of a new one.
Eva: Well the you I've been living with never did anything to be ashamed of. I hope you'll bring some of him with you back to your world.
Chuck: I fully intend to. If you'll come with me.
Eva: To New York? You got me a ticket?
Chuck: We don't need tickets. I'm Chuck Bass.
Blair: Just because you're poorly dressed doesn't mean you're not Chuck Bass.
Chuck: Why would I want to be him?
