It's been the worst kept secret in Hollywood, but now American Idol has made the official announcement:

Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler will join Randy Jackson as the new season 10 judges. The artists were introduced at a press conference today, with Lopez making like Paula Abdul and telling an audience that included many aspiring contestants:

"I love you guys. I am so excited. It is about concentrating in the moment, do the best you can. Just live! Just live, it's your moment."

J. Lo also set the bar impossible high for next year's finalists, saying: "I'm looking for the next Michael Jackson."

Tyler, meanwhile, was referred to as a "rock legend" by Fox executives and summed up his inclusion on the show with:

"[It] feels like the perfect feathered nest. It's being a part of something much bigger than yourself. I want to bring some rock to this roller coaster."

What do you think, TV Fanatics? Are you excited about the additions of Lopez and Tyler?

wow, they are way more famous than the others were, except for ellen, so they have star quality therefore CAN judge! I hate it when they put useless people to judge, like, why are they better than the rest? these two are, at least in the success category.
