By the way, Meredith and Derek are my favorite couple, but that doesn't mean that, once they left, I'll be done with the show. There's a great drama between all the characters, not just Mer and Derek, there are so many couples and so many characters whose growth I really wanna see. There are like ten more characters and this show is great not ONLY because of Mer/Der.

I hope they don't name the baby Izzie or George. Maybe George as a middle name but not as first name.

I also think the baby should be named ellen for a girl and maybe George or christopher. Ders father was Christopher. Christopher George Sheperd.

I think that all good shows come to an end and greys should end at some point. Most shows are about a journey of taking the main characters from the start to the finish. Of mer has a child and if the move into the mc house then I think her journey will be complete. She won't be as screwed as she was in the first episode during her first narrative. Grey's won't survive ellen or paticks departure so they should close shop and maybe give sandra oh her own show. Her story isn't done until she becomes a cardio god. And I don't buy her marriage to owen. It won't be a happy road. And maybe callie and Arizona can move to the other show cuz they are the only other worthy characters. Maybe Bailey can move to L.A to be with addie. That would be cool. The chief little grey and mark annoy me. So I don't care what happens to them.

Shonda already said that if Mer leaves, Derek goes with her. Just hope that they'll decide not to leave the show. Shonda tweeted to an anxious fan something like: Pompeo may leave the show, but in TWO years, and she said MAYBE. Let's just hope they'll stay, or, at least, they should have a great ending storyline, not like Izzie's. It's two more years and not even for sure, so let's just watch these amazing two seasons which are up to air, even if I secretly hope that GA lasts even more than ER. Not ready to see its end yet (and never will be!) :D

A baby for my favorite McCouple! That would be amazing but first they must get married properly, well however you may define "proper" for them. I totally agree with the rest of you, Meredith and Derek are basically the reason I watch Grey's because I LOVE THEM BOTH SO MUCH so if and when they leave, I will not continue watching.

I would -definitely- stop watching the show if Meredith leaves. But that's just me- I'm not a TV gal- but have gotten inadvertently attached to this show. I look for an excuse to s-t-o-p watching 'most anything (-:
Meredith is the moral compass of the show, for me, and it's her story that moves me most. Not to gloss over the rest of the show! I love Sandra Oh's contribution.. and the character of Derek.. and enjoy Bailey, Alex.. too- but no Meredith Grey means no Grey's Anatomy, for this fan.
A child for Meredith and Derek would be lovely. Not essential but lovely.

Oh, and I agree with MerDer4EveR on the names, hell to the no with George or Izzie as names and that if it's a boy, Christopher should be it. Or after his father (Derek seems that type of traditional person, I'm sure that would mean the world to him) but I'm having a hard time imagining a girl name.

I loved this interview. It was so great to hear their perspectives about M/D and what they see for them in the future.

EP and PD's interviews always make me feel so much better and looking foward for next season.
I think that after season 8 will leave together. SR can do whatever she wants continues GA or not after, I will leave with PD and EP. The main reason I watch the show is for them..

Yay! I want more mature MD.
Oh hell no, for MerDer baby I so don't want Izzie or George as the baby's name. I would want Christopher like Derek's middle name. ;)

PD meant that his contract and EP's contract are up by the end of season 8 and it looks like he won't renew too just like EP. Good so Shonda can wrap up MerDer story with decency and closure so I can drop Grey's from my watch list if they continue with the show after EP and PD leave which is likely to be so.

maybe he just meant they've got a definate 2 more seasons, and ellen said she's going to leave then, but maybe it just means they have 2 more seasons together. maybe they could have a baby at the end of season 8 but (just saying I LOVE ellen so I wouldn't want this to happen) something bad happen to meredith - like dying in childbirth of something :/// I love her, but if she wants to leave, they could do the life for a life story!
anyway - hope they stay though! that'd be amahzing!!!! :D
