I really really loved this episode.
I truly didn't say Mason and Katherine at all...even related to eachother. Major shocker for me.
Also, I loved Damon and Elena's scene, kind of taking a little bit of that raw edge off the uncomfortable disturbing Damon meltdown- I can't wait until they rebuild their relationship into something with a whole lot of trust- and- well, haha....
Thirdly, loved the Tyler and Jeremy bromance/trust thing going on, way more than I would've imagined. I really really liked these two characters together, and I'm starting to enjoy Tyler's role in the show a whole lot more.
GOOOOOOOOOODNESS

COME ONE NINA DOBREV!
You get to kiss Ian and Paul! And now, Taylor Kinney?! You're the luckiest person in this world, don't you know that?! :)) Who's next in line? How I wish THE VAMPIRE DIARIES is being aired on HBO so it can be ala-True Blood style. ;)

Once Liz has been compelled, maybe Caroline can start to forge a real relationship with her--such as could be when one is a vampire, and the other doesn't know it...
Maybe Damon will 'suggest' to Liz that she needs to be a better mom :P

I saw it coming. I'm sorry, but in Mason's flashback I knew his mate had been compelled. It was Brave New World all over again. That flashback pretty much cemented the cahoots for me, before I even saw her, because I knew from last week's ep that she was the one who gave the Lockwoods the moonstone in the first place. And also, it does explain where Katherine's been in the immediate past. And I didn't assume the cahoots in the beginning purely because I figured Mason was a new character for a new season and the plot wouldn't use him all that much. I guess it was because they down-played his role by pushing it onto Tyler and the curse and by generally hiding the cahoots. But really, I wasn't surprised. At all.
