Grey's Anatomy to "Cure" Cristina Thursday?

by at . Comments

A little time away can work wonders.

The Derek-Cristina fishing trip in this Thursday's episode of Grey's Anatomy will do what we've been waiting months for, according to E! Online, and that's "fix" Cristina Yang.

How exactly it does that, we'll have to wait and see, but it's supposedly very emotional, and with the outdoorsy McDreamy guiding this self-help trip, how can it go wrong?

Meanwhile, Scott Foley guest stars as a new patient of, and potential love interest for Teddy, who's really taken with him. Click here for a full photo gallery for Thursday!

Oh yes let not forget Bailey who also had a gun pointed at her and had to let someone died in her arms, and she is well. Why is that because Bailey has emotional and psychological foundation to deal with what happened that day. Perkins never clear Cristina for surgery, because Cristina is the least able to deal with the shooting. That is a fact. Shonda can say that Cristina is reacting this way because she had a gun pointed at her head while in surgery. Cristina's life is falling apart because surgery has been her life, and that is not healthy, someone who structure her life to only be a cardiac surgeon, has some deep emotional issues. Had Cristina cultivated a life outside the OR, Gary Clark pointing gun at her head wouldn't had been life shattering or life changing. Someone with who has a healthy emotional foundation is better able to deal with a man pointing a gun at them, even if they have another life in their hands, than someone who has never dealt with their emotional issues or hasn't been able to channel their traumas properly. Cristina has never had a healthy emotional foundation, just like Meredith but Meredith has advantage that Cristina does not have, she went to Therapy, and that help Meredith see that their was life beyond just being a surgeon.

Shonda has said that Cristina has PTSD because she had a gun held to her head while performing surgery. No one else had a gun held to their head during surgery, that is why they can do their jobs and she can't. Just like Alex couldn't go on an elevator for the first few episodes, because of what happened to him, she can't go into the OR. Getting over performing surgery is more difficult than getting back on an elevator, as there are other people's lives at stake.

Cristina has PTSD NOT because Meredith offered her life to Gary Clark instead of Cristina's, Derek's, Webber's and Lexie's life without caring how it would affect Cristina if Meredith had died or because she had a gun pointed at her head but because Cristina lacks the emotional tools to deal with this type of situation in a healthy way. Everybody in that hospital was terrorize by the shooter not just Cristina. Lexie should be falling apart, since she probably feel guilty because she unplugged Gary Clark's wife and also had a gun pointed at her. Derek should be a wreck since he got shot, and also gave the order to unplugged Gary Clark's wife. Alex should be falling apart since the beef wasn't with him and yet he almost died. But Derek, Lexie, and Alex aren't a wreck because they have the emotional tool to deal with this type of situation in a healthy way. Cristina does not have those emotional tools that the others do, therefore she is reacting this way. This is what Ms Shonda Rhimes is saying with this storyline for Cristina.

@ Ann Cristina took the decision to continue operating on derek with gun to her head before meredith came in and tell Mr. clark to shoot her and even if meredith was not there at all cristina loves meredith too much to let that happen to her . As much as meredith reaction towards Mr. clark seems selfish and carless towards cristina but i do believe that if cristina was on that table and derek was operating on her with gun to his head meredith would do it all over again , she would have offered herself to the shooter no problem if this would have saved cristina's life. I was actually listening to season 6 finale podcast yesterday and shonda was saying that meredith was in a savior mood through this experience just like the chief when he was telling Mr.clark to shoot him no problem because he really lived, meredith is in the same place she have had a lot of crappy things happen to her in her life and getting shot in order to safe the life of the person she loves wont be the worst thing that had happened to her , so from mer's point of view she was not being selfish this moment , she was just being human.

WTF you people don't know what going to happen in the episode. How can you people say that Meredith is wrong and Owen is right for kicking Meredith out of the OR. Or that Owen is wrong and unprofessional or whatever. The scenes that you have seem are out of context. Nobody knows if Meredith yelling at Owen in the OR is making it difficult for Owen to think of a solution, because the episode hasn't aired yet. Maybe there is too much bleeding and there is no way to control it and there is no way to save the patient and Meredith doesn't want to give up on the guy. Maybe the guy was bleeding before Meredith start yelling. You guys don't know because the episode hasn't aired. When it airs and we see the whole episode then we can say who is right and who is wrong. I am looking forward to this episode, I have a feeling we are going to find out whether or not Meredith is really okay, I'm looking for to that more than the fishing trip. It looks to me that nothing big is going to happen in that fishing trip, that Cristina is only going to fall apart, like she did when she had her miscarriage in season 2 and at the end decides to come back to work that it.

@Ann Actually Cristina would've saved Derek even if Meredith weren't there. Cristina wouldn't be able to live with herself if she had walked away. Even if it hadn't been Derek, Cristina would've stayed and save that person.

Seriously, why am I hearing comments like "It's TOTALLY wrong for Cristina to blame Meredith for her PTSD!" Of course Cristina is going to blame Meredith because she wouldn't have gone through with operating on Derek- with Gary Clark pointing a gun to her head, BTW- if it hadn't been for Meredith. Ever since the MerDer relationship, Cristina has worried that Meredith would choose Derek over her as her most important person in her life. Cristina has already voiced her dislike towards the MerDer relationship in Season 5, and she could care less about Derek (and Alex, Izzie, George, etc.). But since Cristina considers Meredith as her "person", she puts up with whoever Meredith associates with, as well as some of Meredith's reckless choices in life (i.e., "sex-with-no-strings-attached" phase with Derek in the beginning of Season 4...Cristina once suggested in episode 6 of that season that Meredith could stop engaging in that affair as a way of coping with her family issues). So when Gary Clark was shooting the living crap out the hospital, Cristina (and Derek, of course) was trying to protect Meredith, who was caring more about Derek than Cristina or even herself. I know, Derek is the love of Meredith's life. But in Cristina's POV, Meredith wasn't thinking about Cristina's own safety when she was begging her to save Derek. When Meredith was offering Gary Clark to shoot her instead of Cristina, Derek, etc., it was also as if she could care less about how much her death would affect Cristina (Meredith's near-death drowning incident in Season 3, anyone?). So, yeah, Cristina would eventually blame Meredith for her PTSD. Is that unfair? For the most part, yes. Nevertheless, by the end of that Clark shooting incident, it is Cristina, NOT Meredith (or Derek or Owen), who is constantly dealing with the aftermath. And it is funny how the show does not indicate MORE of Meredith and Derek's probable remorse over the loss of their unborn baby. Personally, I would like for Cristina to tell Derek about Meredith begging Gary Clark to shoot her (and techinically her fetus inside) and see how Derek would react. As for the Meredith-Owen blow-up in the OR, I have no comment. Anyways, I apologize for the long rant.

Owen seems lost as to what to do to help Cris. Mer is frustrated by his lack of a plan. If Cris isn't at the hospital or seeing Mer who really other than Owen can help Cris? Der is giving Cris space, I'm not sure I'm expecting a 'eureka moment' and Cris will be cured by realising she doesn't like fishing. I really think Mer needs to explain why she hasn't got PTSD. Mer's had a trauma when she was 5 years old, later she drowned and pushed away Der due to the way her parents treated her. Mer's had her therapy. Cris needs therapy. Owen could see that for Avery, but got Cris out of the therapy that was offered. Big mistake IMO

@Katy - But tha´s the beauty of a true friendship... you call yell, blame and be unfair at some moments and it´s ok, because they are best friends, they understand each other, they love each other, and it won´t be neither the first nor the last time it happens... The people who we are most unfair during trying times are the people we´re sure will be there for us no matter what. And I agree with whoever said that Meredith´s blowing up seeing the guy dying when there´s nothing she can do is totally related to Derek almost dying... because she was powerless... if it wasn´t for cristina, he would have died. And Owen might not be 100% professional, but hey, which attending in this hospital is? Every one of them has given (or taken away) surgery for personal reasons...

Grey's Anatomy Quotes

Our lives are built on our mistakes as much as our successes.

Ellis

Vulnerability isn't the opposite of strength. It's a necessary part. You have to force yourselves to open up, to expose ourselves, to offer everything we have and just pray that it's good enough. Otherwise, we'll never succeed.
