lindsay, you are really, really wrong. Katherine stated that she wanted to sacrifice Elena to break the curse and save her own hide.

@J i agree. who is the orginal petrova? When will we find out...or will we find out. Awesome episode. i saw the Elijah thing but not dr. Martin even though when watching it i said to my mom i thought most warlocks were protrayed as evil on tv; case in piont the pilot episode of Charmed.

maybe Katherine wasnt lying when she said she wanted to protect Elena. She needed a werewolf to break the curse, so she got Tyler to turn, so she could break the curse. If the curse is broken, then maybe Klaus pardons her. So maybe she just wants to protect Elena from anyone else that wants her dead, so she can be the one to turn everyone over to Klaus or do it herself.

What I want to know is, if Katherine and Elena are doppelgangers, who are they doppelgangers of? There has to be an original person that they look like?

The show is building up for a good finale. I like what going on so far I know is a bit confusing but I love the intense of having this powerful villain whose obviously is not alone, so we have two teams that great can’t wait for the fight. Props to Nina Dobrev.

would it be great if they add a mermaid in the mix and a couple of fairies, angels and demons hahaha! that will be crazy, but then again this is TVD anything goes! love love the mythology!

I still have a ton of questions about the doppelgangers that weren't answered in this episode. What we found out I kind of already had figured out.
I love TVD but somehow this episode...I don't know, something felt off about it. Maybe I don't like the direction it's taking, not sure.
Yes, Nina Dobrev was pretty amazing. Speaking British English, American English and Bulgarian in one episode? I was expecting her to then burst out into elvish song a la Lord of the Rings.
And if Klaus turns out to be Santa Clause, I don't know what I'll do. (But you heard it here first)

If elena just turns into a vamp klaus is going to seek revenge against her family.
Unless some of the Gilberts being the ones killed off it's unlikely Elena will turn.
This is a storyline that shouldve waited tbh.

Does anybody else feel it's getting too complicated? Or am I getting old

@JLss86: Certainly possible. But that was Katherine's family... does Klaus even know Elena is friends with Tyler? Heck, is she even friends with Tyler? It might not be so clear to Klaus who he'd have to kill in order to seek revenge.

@anamni: Interesting theory... but it will feel like the show is constantly playing with the audience if it simply isn't giving us the truth every week. It's dangerous to have a key character as a liar, as fans might just tune out because nothing she says actually matters.

wait...but if Elena turns into a vampire...wouldn't Klaus just kill everybody for revenge, as he did when Katherine turned?i mean...it seems like one way or another they're all dead right?or maybe i'm missing sthg...

I think that Katherine wants to do the opposite and that is to ensure the werewolf side win so that noone from her daughters decendents is hurt, because i believe she hates klaus with a vengence but being katherine she will not admit the truth. Mel Gibson ??? your slack lol
