In the upcoming film Country Strong (due out Jan. 7), Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester plays a key role and showcases her vocal talents alongside Gwyneth Paltrow.

The plot features a rising country singer (Garrett Hedlund) who connects with a fallen star (Paltrow). They mount his ascent and her comeback, but meet complications involving her husband and manager (Tim McGraw) and a beauty queen-turned-singer (Meester).
