Look Who Almost Played Stefan Salvatore...

Can you imagine The Vampire Diaries without Paul Wesley in the role of Stefan Salvatore?

Don't worry, fans, the actor isn't going anywhere. But producer Julie Plec revealed this week that another young star nearly landed the key role: Grey Damon tested for the character and was strongly considered.

Grey vs. Paul

Fortunately, everything worked out for both Wesley and Damon.

The former is part of the hottest cast on television, while the latter appeared on season three of True Blood and now plays a key role on Friday Night Lights, as seen above.

But it can be fun to play "What if..." Think Damon would have succeeded as Stefan?

I personally don't think either of them fit as Stefan. Neither is turning heads gorgeous and Paul looks way to old to be playing a teen in high school.

Paul wesly is jus sexier.... He has got everyting...

Omg I'm a huge vampire diaries fan ( books included ) and I think that each charecter they cast ( with the exception of vicke ) is perfect . I can't image any on else playing any of these rolls . Let alone stefan my personal favorite .

I prefered Paul all the way!

he's kinda cute,, but I prefer Wesley.. ahaha He's more hotter,, xo

Church better prepare for me because THANK GOD he wasn't chosen!
The show would literally suck if not for Paul (pun intended), I mean come on, look at those arms, and compare to Paul's...mhm.

He looked really bulky in True Blood, would have looked really odd next to the super slim Nina and Ian. Paul fits in with the cast much better.

this is so wrong.

I much prefer Wesley! :) He is a fantastic Stefan!!!!

Looks like Ian with that smirk on his face.

He's your first love. I intend to be your last. However long it takes.

Well in case you haven't figured it out by now, I'm a sociopath. I know, shocker. I like being a sociopath, ya know? I'm not burned by things like guilt or love.
