Ricky Gervais has been a major topic of debate this week, following his controversial hosting of The Golden Globes.

But absolutely no one will disagree with how exciting the following piece of news is: the comedian will make a cameo on an episode of The Office this month, bringing his British character of David Brent to Scranton.

The boss on the original version of this sitcom will make a "small cameo" on the January 27 installment, network insiders say.

Not much else is known about the appearance, except that Gervais' Brent will cross paths with Steve Carell's Michael Scott.
