American Idol Auditions of the Night: John Wayne Schulz and Thia Megia

at .

American Idol whittled its contestants from 100 to 60 last night.

And while we still have a VERY long way to go until the finale in May, a couple hopefuls stood out from the rest in Hollywood, as John Wayne Schulz and Thia Megia impressed with their talent and poise, each covering a classic.

First up, listen to Schulz go acoustic for a rendition of "Landslide."

Now, sit back and ponder the fact that Megia is only 15 years old as you watch her take on "What a Wonderful World."

Among other contestants who survived to sing another day: Ashley Sullivan, Jacob Lusk, Scotty McCreery, Ta-Tynisa Wilson, Brett Loewenstern, Lauren Alaina, James Durbin, Casey Abrams, Carson Higgins, Naima Adedapo, Julie Zorilla and Rachel Zevita.
